Watch Djo joined by ‘Stranger Things’ co-star Finn Wolfhard on stage in Toronto

Djo was joined by his Stranger Things co-star Finn Wolfhard on stage in Toronto this week – see footage below.

The actor and musician, also known as Joe Keery, plays Steve Harrington in the Netflix show, but he is currently on tour supporting his third album ‘The Crux’, which was released last month.

At a show at Toronto’s History on Tuesday night (April 29), Djo rounded out the show with a version of ‘Flash Mountain’, from his debut album ‘Twenty Twenty’.

For the track, he welcomed Wolfhard – Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things – onto the stage with him, and the two were backed by Djo’s former band Post Animal, who have been opening for him on the current tour.

Wolfhard also has a music career running alongside his acting work, having previously played with the bands Capurnia and The Aubreys.

He is preparing to release his debut solo album ‘Happy Birthday’ on June 6 via AWAL, and he previewed the record last month with the tender, Elliott Smith-like single ‘Trailers After Dark’.

Wolfhard has also announced a string of live dates across North America. Titled the ‘Objection!’ tour, the shows kick off on June 5 at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles before making stops in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Djo, meanwhile, recently spoke to NME about the process of making his new album and on how he manages to balance his music and acting careers.

“Having this kind of boiling throughout the whole thing… It’s been nice to have something else to work on,” he says about his music career simmering beneath the run of Stranger Things.

“What I did was an extremely unique experience, even in the acting world. People don’t work on things for that long. Can you imagine how sad and weird I’d feel if I was just at home doing nothing? That would be bad for me.”

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things was due to hit Netflix later this year, although creators The Duffer Brothers have cast doubts on that, saying a 2025 release would be “quite the push”.
