Barbados Tridents franchise cricket team came into existence in the year 2013 to participate in the Caribbean Premier League. The team represents Barbados for the 20 over format cricket tournament. The franchise is owned by Manish Patel of CMG Companies located in the United States. It is a group of local and foreign investors who have raised their stakes in the purchase of the Barbados Trident cricket franchise. The home ground of Barbados Tridents is Kensington Oval, located west of Bridgetown, the capital city. 

The team will play Caribbean Premier League under the captaincy of and will be mentored by Trevor Penney as the head coach. The Barbados Tridents decided to let go of eight of their players. Among the released players was Rashid Khan, who was the star all-rounder at Sunrisers Hyderabad’s. 

Winners of the Caribbean Premier League 2019, Barbados Tridents have begun their campaign for CPL 2021 on a positive note by hiring some dynamic players in their eleven-member squad. Barbados Tridents players are all fired up under the captaincy of Jason Holder and are looking forward to lifting their third trophy in the upcoming season.

After going through a slump in 2016 and 2018, the Barbados Tridents team is practicing hard on the nets to gain back that match-winning confidence by training its batsmen and bowlers to perform under pressure.

    The biggest strength of Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League 2021 is their multidimensional portfolio of domestic and international players. Barbados Tridents openers Shai Hope and Johnson Charles are in good form followed by Jonathan Carter at number three. The middle-order will consist of Corey Anderson, Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, and Nyeem Young. Rashid Khan, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Hales, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Overall Barbados Tridents have an excellent batting line up and the batsmen are capable of producing some quality cricket on the field.

Barbados Tridents squad needs to pull up their socks for the CPL 2021 and give exceptional performance on the field to have a chance for a top-four finish. Their batsmen need to produce some explosive batting to ensure a play-off qualification and avoid being written off.
