Lucifer Season 6 Is Now Streaming on Netflix

It’s a bittersweet day for fans of Lucifer as the final episodes of the series are now streaming on Netflix. Given that the series was originally canceled after just three seasons on Fox, getting an extra three seasons has been phenomenal for fans, as it’s given everyone much more time to enjoy Tom Ellis in the role. It all comes to a finish with the conclusion of season 6, and with all ten episodes now streaming on Netflix, you can binge to the very end right now.

“I really hope that we’ve done service to everything else we’ve done before it, and I feel that we have,” Ellis recently said of the Lucifer finale, via EW. “We did talk painstakingly about ‘How do we end this?’ And ‘What’s the right way to end it?’ And all of those things. It was an interesting time because everyone was so invested in these characters and in this show that we really cared that we did this right. And I feel like we got to a place where we did that, and I really strongly believe that our fans will think the same thing… I feel like we’ve done ourselves proud in that department.”

“Hard. Beautiful. Bittersweet. Very, very, very emotional,” co-showrunner Joe Henderson separately told Word Balloon, referring to the final day of shooting. “It was very sad but also it wasn’t. Because we ended on our terms. We ended with a story we wanted to end with, and we ended with the family that we started with and that was a truly incredible day. [We asked ourselves] ‘Should we be sadder?’ We’re sad. But, we’re really, really happy also with what we were able to do. But yeah, we cried. We cried a lot, a lot.”

Originally, Lucifer premiered on Fox in 2016. While fans and critics were loving the series, the ratings just weren’t high enough for network television, leading to Fox booting Lucifer in 2018 after three seasons. This prompted fans to band together for a #SaveLucifer campaign on social media, proving how popular the series really was around the world. Netflix swooped in for the save soon after, ordering a fourth season that premiered on the streaming service in 2019.

With season 4 striking well with Netflix subscribers, the company then ordered a fifth season soon after. This was initially supposed to conclude the series with 16 episodes broken up into two halves, dropping in 2020 and 2021. During production of season 5, Netflix went ahead and ordered another season to give fans of the show six total seasons, double what they would have gotten if the series wasn’t saved.

Tom Ellis stars in Lucifer as Lucifer Morningstar, the Lord of Hell who relocates to Los Angeles to operate a nightclub and work with the LAPD. Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Scarlett Estevez, Rachael Harris, Kevin Rankin, and Tricia Helfer also star. The sixth and final season of Lucifer is now streaming in its entirety on Netflix, and you can go binge all ten episodes now to bid the character farewell.
