The Series Gets Renewed for Season 3 at Disney+

Disney+ is still one of the new kids on the block as far as streaming services are concerned. But they know they have something special and something unique. One thing for sure is that when they see a series that is doing great and fits their brand, the usually don’t hesitate to grow that product. That is the case with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as they just confirmed that that season 3 is indeed happening.

Disney+ gave the third season a green light to this original concept and fans are excited. The show was created and executive-produced by Tim Federle (Ferdinand, Better Nate Than Ever) and he is back for the new season. What we know so far is that incoming episodes will follow the Wildcats as they leave the halls of East High for their adventurous summer at sleepaway camp. This will bring tales by campfires, summer loving (had me a blast) and nights that never end.

Production has not started just yet, but we know that the third season will move from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles sometime later this year. “We are overjoyed to be heading to the great outdoors for season three, and grateful to our partners and friends at Disney+ for their continued support of our next-generation Wildcats,” said Tim Federle.

The series has a pretty successful history as it comes from the two-time Emmy Award-winning High School Musical franchise that brought us Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens and took them into stardom. The franchise also saw fame on the Billboard charts.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will once again hit the airwaves as it looks to launch even more careers and find the next big thing. Some of the original songs from the series include . Just For a Moment, which is the season one ballad by Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo. They wrote the song for their characters Ricky and Nini. We also have All I Want, the platinum-certified, Billboard Hot 100-reaching hit song that Rodrigo wrote and performed as Nini in season one. The soundtracks for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season one, season two, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special have reached a massive number with 1 billion, 438 million combined streams so far.

Seasons one and two of the GLAAD Media Award-winning series are currently available on Disney+.We don’t have a trailer or much more information on season three as they just announced the project. However based on past shows we can guess that a trailer or teaser will be here sometime next year with either a late summer release or fall. It does seem that Disney is taking its time with new projects and of course we are assuming that we will not see anymore delays like we have over the last year.

Rest assured once we get any new information on this and other projects, we will be the first to let you know the details. Will we see a new movie soon? Many fans have been wondering if the series will leave to a bigger motion bigger in the future. Only time will tell.
