No Way Home TV Spot Reveals More Footage of Jamie Foxx’s Electro

In a new TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home, a familiar villain is impressed with the new universe he’s found himself in. Previously starring as the supervillain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx is one of many actors from alternate Spider-Man movie franchises to return for No Way Home next month. A look at him was briefly shown in the second full trailer that was recently released.

Now, more footage of Jamie Foxx in character as Electro has been revealed. This comes as part of a new 30-second ad developed for television that’s floating around online, made to help promote the IMAX release. In the TV spot, Electro can be seen admiring his new home along with what else could potentially be done with the multiverse. As he says in the trailer, “Look at this place, and all the possibilities.”

Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) also confronts Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the spot, though this footage has been used prominently in the other teasers and trailers. There’s speculation that Doc Ock and Peter may even be working together after the villain realizes he’s not dealing with the same version of Peter from back in his home universe. Another ad references Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man with Doc Ock saying bluntly that this isn’t the Peter Parker he knows.

We know that several villains from both of the previous Spider-Man movie franchises will be showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The big question many still have is whether the respective Spider-Men from those movies will also appear. It’s no secret that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are heavily rumored to team up with Tom Holland in No Way Home. At the same time, neither has been directly shown in any of the ads, leading some fans to wonder if they really won’t be in it.

Maguire has not publicly addressed these rumors, but that’s in part due to the actor keeping a very low profile these days. Meanwhile, Garfield has spoken about the rumors directly on several occasions, but for his part, he’s flat out denying them. After months of consistent denials in different interviews, Garfield recently decided that he’s had enough, announcing that he’s “done” talking about the movie. At this point, he just wants people to wait and see what happens when it is released.

“Listen, at this point… I’m done,” Garfield said on Today. “We’ll all find out when the movie comes out. And we’ll either be very disappointed, or we’ll be very happy, or someone will say, ‘I told you so,’ another person will say, ‘I told you so.’ We’ll all find out. I’m sorry in advance.”

He’s right. We’ll all know for sure when Spider-Man: No Way Home is released in movie theaters on Dec. 17, 2021. It remains to be seen if Marvel fans will cry foul if the other Spideys don’t end up appearing in the movie after all, but if we’re being honest, it certainly seems more likely than not that the actors are involved. Unless, of course, that really was John Cena punching the Lizard in the previous trailer.
