A fun fact about me? I wear bodysuits 90 percent of the time and have one for just about every occasion: going out, lounging, working out, you name it. At this point, I’m pretty sure that I own more one-pieces than actual shirts, and I’m cool with that. You see, I’m the type of person who can’t stand having to worry about my shirt becoming untucked or getting bunched up. I prefer the seamless look, which, in turn, makes me worry-free. In pursuit of the best of the best ones on the market, I’m slowly but surely testing out every single retailer’s options.
So when I came across the Old Navy Rib-Knit Supima Cotton-Blend Bodysuit ($25), I couldn’t help but add not one but three to my cart for a few reasons, starting with that they look like the dupe for a particular celebrity’s shapewear line (namely the tank tops). Second, they seemed equally comfortable and chic, two factors I consider ultraimportant in adding to my work-from-home wardrobe.
I admit that I was tempted to buy all five colors, but I played it cool and stuck to the three I needed most: brown, cream, and pink. I selected two-day shipping because I’m extra, and then I ripped open the bag when it arrived. I was surprised by how soft they were and found myself the most drawn to the brown-colored bodysuit (which is creatively named “Date Palm,” btw).
My honest review? The cream and pink bodysuits were a tad too sheer for my liking, but the brown one has earned its rightful place in my closet — and I can see myself wearing it as both loungewear and “real” clothes. It fits comfortably and doesn’t feel like it’s suctioned to my body as many compressing bodysuits do. It’s so comfy, in fact, that I could see myself wearing it to bed if I teamed it with a pair of shorts or pajama bottoms.
If you, too, are bodysuit-obsessed, I recommend sticking to the darker-colored options from this line, like brown, black, and navy blue. While I haven’t tested the latter two, I have an inkling that they’ll perform well, like the brown number. It’s not that the others aren’t wearable, but I could see my belly button through the fabric, and that wasn’t exactly the vibe I was going for. That said, though, the brown one formally has this bodysuit-obsessed editor’s seal of approval — and I promise, that’s saying something.
