Ozark Season 4 Part 2 Trailer Has The Byrdes Fighting for Their Freedom

Netflix has released an explosive trailer for Ozark season 4 part 2. Starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner, Ozark is one of Netflix’s most successful shows and is finally ending after its 5-year run. Ozark follows a financial advisor from Chicago, Marty Byrde (Bateman), who is forced to relocate his family to the lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and launder money for a Mexican drug cartel. Ozark sees the Byrdes gaining the favor of the cartel and the FBI while trying their best to stay alive. Season 4 of the show premiered in January and left fans reeling in the wake of its tragic mid-season finale. And the final episodes promise to be even more intense and violent. You can check out the trailer below.

The Netflix logline for Ozark season 4 part 2 reads: “Facing threats from all sides, Marty and Wendy fight to keep their family together, appease the cartel and the FBI — and leave the Ozarks for good.” The first half of season 4, consisting of seven episodes, premiered on January 21, and the remaining seven episodes will follow on April 29, 2022.

Netflix also announced a 30-minute retrospective, A Farewell to Ozark that “serves as a love letter to one of Netflix’s great drama series.” The special will “explore the genesis of the series, the rich characters we loved and loved to hate, the gripping performances that captivated us, the creatives who made magic behind the camera, and a wealth of memories over the last five years.”

Ozark season 4 part 2 trailer features several surprises, like Marty running the cartel, Ruth inheriting the Snell farm, and the apparent death of the new antagonist, Javi Elizondro (Alfonso Herrera). While it could be a misdirection by the makers, it’s unlikely Ruth Langmore will miss her target from point-blank range, especially after Javi murdered her cousin Wyatt. There seems to be a prison riot as well involving former cartel boss Omar Navarro. It looks like Ozark plans to go out with a bang. Will the Byrdes survive? What will happen to Ruth? All the questions will be answered on April 29.

Will Ozark End With Season 4?

Netflix

Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy wanted to make five seasons, but Netflix suggested concluding the show with an extended season four. But that move turned out to be a premature decision as season 4 part 1 topped the rating chart, registering over 4 billion streaming minutes. Ozark initially received average reviews upon its premiere, but as is the case with most TV shows, it got better with each season. And the viewership improved too. It’s possible Ozark could spawn spinoffs or prequels. Fans especially want to see more of Julia Garner’s Ruth Langmore and are hoping she survives. Creator Mark Williams also discussed Ozark’s future recently with Screenrant, implying the show could take a page out of Breaking Bad’s book.

“I haven’t personally [thought about it] and I think it’s for Netflix and Chris [Mundy] to really figure out a little bit more how they want to take it, if they do that path. But I’d be thrilled for that to happen, obviously Ruth has been such a great character throughout, but I think it’s got to be right for it. I think what we don’t want to do is just put out another version just to have. I think Better Call Saul is the perfect fit, obviously, they did it so well on top of Breaking Bad, so I think it only makes sense if it works.”
