Nathan Fielder Unveils New Trailer for HBO Series, The Rehearsal

Nathan Fielder has always had an interesting style of comedy, and this shined through in his series Nathan For You. In the show, Fielder would use his business degree and life experience to help real small businesses turn a profit. But because of his unorthodox approach, Nathan’s genuine efforts to do good often draw real people into an experience far beyond what they signed up for. The series ran for four seasons, spanning from 2013 to 2017. Now, Nathan Fielder is back with a new original series, and he offered the first glimpse at the show via his Twitter. The teaser for The Rehearsal can be found below.

Although we don’t have an official release date for the series, the caption used to accompany the trailer says “very soon,” so it’s safe to assume the show will be arriving sometime this year. There aren’t many details regarding the show’s premise; however, The Rehearsal promises to give “people the opportunity to rehearse for their own lives.” In the teaser, we see Fielder observing security footage from several cameras, with a woman trying to get a young child to sleep. What exactly the group is rehearsing in this situation is still unknown, but with Nathan Fielder, anything is possible.

Everyone Loves Nathan

Nathan For You was one of the most beloved and well-received comedies while it was on the air, so it makes sense that HBO would want more of Fielder. The actor/writer/director/comedian first reached a deal with HBO in 2019 and produced a hit with both critics and audiences with How To With John Wilson. The series follows an anxious New Yorker who attempts to give everyday advice while dealing with his own personal issues. The series was commended for its dry comedy brilliance and mastery in editing.

Fielder is involving himself in a scripted series as well. The show, The Curse, is about a curse disturbing a relationship between a newlywed couple trying to conceive a child while simultaneously co-starring in a problematic home improvement show. Emma Stone and Benny Safdie are attached to the project.

Given the lack of details surrounding The Rehearsal, we don’t know whether the series will be more like Nathan For You, How to With John Wilson, or The Curse. However, if it comes from the comical mind of Nathan Fielder, you can be assured that it will be something you don’t want to miss.
