Billy Eichner is back on the street for the first Billy on the Street video in three years. While the series no longer airs as an episodic television program, Eichner has kept the show going with new videos posted online, though the latest one was in late 2019. To promote his new movie Bros, Eichner has partnered up with Paul Rudd for a new Billy on the Street video, this time encouraging passersby to watch his new film. You can check out the new video below.
“Hey guys, it’s Billy, I’m out here back on the street with famous and beloved straight man Paul Rudd. We’re going to spread the word about my new movie Bros,” Eichner says in the video.

From there, the pair approach a variety of people while asking them to watch the movie. As is often the case with Billy on the Street, these encounters quickly turn awkward most of the time. That includes one man asking if Rudd can physically carry him to the theater to watch it, and the Ant-Man star actually gives him a lift. At another point, Eichner can be seen marching down the sidewalk with “a pack of wild lesbians” to strongly encourage other passersby to watch Bros on September 30th, having some of them scream about their desire to watch it in exchange for a dollar.

Billy Eichner Is Really Proud of Bros
Bros is directed by Nicholas Stoller who co-wrote the film with Eichner. Eichner, who also executive produces, stars in the lead role as Bobby Lieber, an out gay man hired to write a romantic comedy about a gay couple. His life completely changes when he meets a “macho” lawyer named Aaron (Luke Macfarlane). The first gay rom-com from a major studio to feature an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast, the film also stars Ts Madison, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Diaz, Guy Branum, Amanda Bearse, Bowen Yang, and Jim Rash.
“I feel a responsibility for it to do well,” Eichner told Variety about the film ahead of its world premiere at TIFF. “I’ve worked so hard on it, I care so much about it, and I want it to do well for the sake of the LGBTQ stories getting greenlit.”
He added, “I told myself to look around and appreciate how rare and magical this moment is because you are making a movie that looks and feels like all the romantic comedies you grew up loving, but you’re doing it as a gay man. And this is not an indie movie. This is not some streaming thing which feels disposable, or which is like one of a million Netflix shows. I needed to appreciate that. This is a historic moment, and somehow, you’re at the center of it. You helped create it.”
Bros will be premiering in theaters everywhere on Sept. 30, 2022. You can check out the movie’s official trailer and synopsis below.
This fall, Universal Pictures proudly presents the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy. From the ferocious comic mind of Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, 2019’s The Lion King, Difficult People, Impeachment: American Crime Story) and the hitmaking brilliance of filmmakers Nicholas Stoller (the Neighbors films, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Judd Apatow (The King of Staten Island, Trainwreck, The Big Sick), comes Bros, a smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with.
