Nia Long Calls Out Boston Celtics For How They Handled Ime Udoka Situation

Nia Long is speaking her truth.

We’re all well aware of Ime Udoka’s situation at this point. He’s still technically with the Boston Celtics but is serving a full-season suspension. When the news first broke, it was a bit shocking to hear. Now, Nia Long, star actress, and wife of Udoka calls out the franchise for hose they handled the entire situation.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Long is absolutely frustrated with how the Celtics handled everything. Nia Long provides a full statement of what exactly upsets her.

“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public. It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”

This is an extremely valid and logical reason to be upset with the Celtics. Nia Long explains it perfectly, as the organization made Ime Udoka’s scandal public. It’s easy to understand why and how this would be difficult for her family.

As of now, Boston hasn’t made a response. We’ll see how it plays out though. Especially once the season comes to an end. Maybe the Celtics will keep Ime Udoka as their head coach. Or, maybe they won’t, as the front office was okay with the Brooklyn Nets possibly signing Udoka.

Either way, Nia Long is right to be upset with the Celtics organization.
