Netflix announces new K-drama ‘Cashero’, starring 2PM’s Junho

Netflix has announced the cast of its brand-new K-drama series, titled Cashero, starring 2PM singer Junho.

Today (April 18), Netflix revealed the cast of its upcoming original K-drama series Cashero on its official Netflix K-Content account on X (formerly Twitter), describing the show as “superheroes with a realistic twist”.

The series will be led by 2PM singer Junho as Sang-woong, who has superpowers that will be related to money and wealth. He will be joined by Kim Hye-jun (A Shop for Killers), Kim Byong-chul (All of Us Are Dead)
and Kim Hyang-gi (Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist).

Cashero is reportedly based on a popular webtoon of the same name, according to South Korean news outlet MBC, and will follow Sang-woong as an ordinary office worker who suddenly gains special superhero abilities that change his life.

The streaming service has yet to announce a premiere date for the new K-drama. The series was notably not previously listed alongside Netflix’s slate of Korean shows and movies that will premiere in 2024.

In other K-drama news, Netflix has announced the premiere date for its upcoming original series The 8 Show. The series, based on Bae Jin-soo’s hit webcomic series Money Game and Pi Game, will star Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Jeong-min and more.

Meanwhile, the streamer has also dropped a trailer for its long-delayed K-drama Goodbye Earth. The show was originally set to premiere in 2023, but was postponed after original lead after Yoo Ah-in was embroiled in controversy over alleged drug use.
