Lamar out for wild-card game vs. Bengals; Huntley questionable

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is officially out of Sunday’s wild-card showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a knee injury, the team announced Friday.

Jackson, who missed the final five games of the regular season, suggested that he’d be unable to play in a tweet Thursday.

“I’m still in good spirits as I continue with treatments on the road to recovery,” he wrote. “I wish I could be out there with my guys more than anything, but I can’t give a 100% of myself to my guys and fans. I’m still hopeful we still have a chance.”

Meanwhile, backup Tyler Huntley is questionable with shoulder and wrist injuries, though he practiced in full Friday. Huntley said he expects to be a game-time decision but also expressed optimism after sitting out Week 18.

“Shoot, it’s up there. It’s a good percentage. I think we’re pushing 90, 99, around there,” he said Friday, according to NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. “We’re up there. We practiced today, and we’re just seeing how we’re gonna feel these next couple days.”

If Huntley can’t play, rookie Anthony Brown – who started the regular-season finale loss to Cincinnati – would be in line to lead the Ravens in the AFC North clash.

Jackson has yet to return to practice with what he says is a Grade 2 PCL sprain. He also revealed that his knee “remains unstable.”

The 2019 MVP has thrown for 2,241 yards and 17 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 12 starts. He’s also produced 764 yards and three scores on the ground.
