  • Wednesday Star Emma Myers Doesn’t Want to Rush a ‘Wenclair’ Romance

Emma Myers says “anything is possible” when it comes to Wednesday and Enid Sinclair’s relationship, but thinks season 2 is too soon for romance.

Netflix

Some fans might be shipping Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair, but Wednesday star Emma Myers has agreed that the potential romance is possible, even if it probably shouldn’t happen soon. In the first season of the Addams Family reboot series on Netflix, Myers plays Enid, a new friend to Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday. The two are almost exact opposites in terms of appearance and personality, but by the end of the season, they come to be much closer than Wednesday would have expected.

In a new interview with Variety, Myers was asked about the show’s fans who’ve been calling for Wednesday & Enid romance. While Myers hasn’t seen the bulk of it that’s out there on social media, she hasn’t been able to avoid it either, as it’s constantly getting sent to her.

“I’m not on Twitter, and I’m not really on social media very much, but my sisters find it amusing to send me stuff. Fan art, tweets talking about it. My Instagram comments are flooded with it, and so are my DMs. So yeah, I have seen it.”

So, will they or won’t they? Myers says that “anything is possible” in terms of the “Wenclair” romance, but at the same time, she’s hoping that it doesn’t happen as soon as season 2. That’s only because Myers would rather see Wednesday embrace being single for a while after everything she experienced in season 1. As Myers explains in the interview:

“Anything is possible in the show. We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything. As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness. She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she’s got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that.”

We Will See More of Enid Sinclair

Netflix

Wednesday was renewed for a second season, so we know that we will see Enid Sinclair back on the small screen soon enough. Myers says in the new interview she still doesn’t know anything about season 2, so there’s nothing yet she can really tease about what’s to come. Like the fans, she has her own hopes as to where the series could go in season 2, and has divulged that in the interview.

“Oh, I would really like to see Wednesday go somewhere international and interact with the international outcasts from different countries. I feel like that would be really fun. As far as theory-wise — I never had any theories about the show, and I wish I did. But I’ve read so many theories. And I would like to see who the stalker is.”

You can stream the first season of Wednesday on Netflix. Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date.
