Shazam! Fury of the Gods is just around the corner. Zachary Levi and Asher Angel will team up once again to play Billy Batson and his superhero version in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 film, once again under the direction of David F. Sandberg.
The first film was a breath of fresh air amid the dark story lines going through the DCU at the time, with the vision of Zack Snyder reigning over all the characters. Shazam! was presented as a family story with a fun and unstructured tone, even as part of the main canon.
Now, The World’s Mightiest Mortal and his family are empowered by the Gods and must learn to balance their teenage lives with their alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, come to Earth in search of magic stolen from them long ago, the heroes find themselves locked in a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods also stars Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, D.J. Cotrona, Grace Caroline Currey, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Milans, Cooper Andrews, and Djimon Hounsou.

How Long Will Shazam! Fury of the Gods Be?
Warner Bros. Pictures
Through Collider, it was revealed that the film would last a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes, just 2 minutes less than the previous entry. It’s a decent average for a superhero movie these days, considering that some have exceeded two and a half hours, even reaching 3 hours or more, as in the case of Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Avengers: Endgame.
This could be the last adventure of the Shazam! of Zachary Levi on the big screen, as The Flash will function as a reboot of the current universe and usher in James Gunn’s vision for the future of the DCU. At the moment, it is unknown if the character is part of DC Studios’ plans or if there is a possibility that Levi will even continue playing another role.
Gunn clarified that not all the actors from the past universe would be out of the new one. In fact, Jason Momoa has a great chance of continuing to play Arthur Curry after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, since his arc with the character was intended for a trilogy. The director also said that Gal Gadot and Ezra Miller still have the doors open to return, so there is hope for Levi’s continuity.
