Tobin Bell may have become best known for causing pain and suffering to many in the Saw franchise, but it seems that the ever-increasingly volatile and hostile world of X is too much even for Jigsaw to cope with. In a recent post by Bell, he announced that “after much consideration,” he will be stepping away from the platform and putting all of his social media interactions into the likes of Instagram and YouTube.

X has not been a happy place to reside in the last year, as the changes made to the platform by Elon Musk have continued to irk many users, and has led to a barrage of celebrities to abandon their accounts entirely. With more changes on the horizon, it seems that Tobin Bell has become the latest in a long line of stars to say goodbye to the once might app. Having only posted several times this year on the site, his new message read:

“After much consideration, I’ve decided to exit this platform and focus my social media efforts solely on Instagram and YouTube. Feel free to follow @tobinbellofficial on Instagram and subscribe to @tobinbellofficial on YouTube. Thank you for your support.”

It is also possible that fans could see more of Bell on TikTok, as the actor appeared multiple times on Lionsgate’s account recently to promote the release of Saw X, his triumphant return to the horror franchise.

Although the Saw franchise has never been too far away from a cameo appearance by Tobin Bell as the original antagonist John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, Saw X brought the focus of the series back to arguably its greatest asset. While gore fans lapped up the increasingly depraved traps on offer, which become more akin to a demonic variant of the board game Mouse Trap in later movies, others wanted to see more of John Kramer’s story.

Saw X delivered that wish by delving back into the beginnings of the franchise and placing itself in between the first and second movies. Importantly for fans of Jigsaw, this allowed Bell to reprise his role in a more meaningful way that just a flashback cameo, and tell a whole new chapter of the character’s story.

While Jigsaw ultimately met his maker in Saw III, the success of the latest addition to the franchise has invigorated the story much more than its previous sequels, or even the Chris Rock-led spin-off, Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Whether there is another John Kramer story to be told is something that we will have to wait to find out, but considering the post-credits scene of Saw X hints at where another sequel could go, it is surely only a matter of time before we discover what is next for the horror saga.

After its successful run at the box office, Saw X makes its VOD debut on October 20, just in time for Halloween. Those who still have a love of physical media can get their hands on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD releases from November 21st.
