Avril Lavigne is letting her outfit speak for itself at Paris Fashion Week, following reports of her split from former fiancé, Mod Sun. Outside Courrèges’s fall 2023 show on March 1, the “Love It When You Hate Me” singer was spotted wearing an all-black outfit in her signature edgy style.
She wore a Vetements shirt as a dress that read, “I’m not doing sh*t today,” which she paired with thigh-high leather boots and a floor-length wool trench coat. For accessories, giant paper clip earrings and a triangle-shaped Courrèges purse tied the rocker look together. Lavigne mingled with the likes of Julia Fox and Lisa Rinna at the among the runway’s front-row guests.
Her Paris Fashion Week appearance marks her first public outing since confirming her breakup via her rep in late February. First linked in February 2021, the couple dated for over a year before getting engaged in March 2022 in Paris. Breakup rumors between the pair initially circulated following photos of Lavigne hanging out with Tyga, though the two are reportedly just friends.
On March 2, Lavigne was photographed at Christian Louboutin’s The Loubi Show in Paris in a similar black ensemble. She wore an oversized leather blazer over a black dress, with silver chain necklaces and combat boots with red laces. Though the pop-punk singer’s style has barely changed in the past two decades, fans think her post-breakup fashions are signaling a new era for the musician.
