Mutant Mayhem Character Posters & BTS Look With Seth Rogen Released

The beloved faces of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the allies and enemies take center stage in a batch of new character posters for the upcoming animated reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Released courtesy of IGN, the posters put the spotlight on the main four, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, as well as giving us a closer look at the likes of Splinter, April O’Neil, and Bebop and Rocksteady. Not only have we been treated to these new posters, but a behind-the-scenes look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has also been unveiled, and finds writer, producer, and star Seth Rogen heaping praise on his co-stars as well as offering up a few slices of new footage. These posters come following another recent poster that has been unveiled for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and what’s even better is that it reveals a sooner release date for the film. Previously, the film was announced to be released on Friday, Aug. 4, but the new poster shows that Mutant Mayhem will now be released two days earlier on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023. The brand new key art, which you can see below, showcases the heroes in a half-shell as they take to the streets with their preferred methods of transportation. That is to say, three Ninja Turtles are riding their rad skateboards while Donatello is taking the scooter.

The new film is a fresh reboot that is not directly connected to the previous incarnations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is directed by Jeff Rowe and co-directed by Kyler Spears. Seth Rogen penned the screenplay with Rowe, Evan Goldberg, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit. Rogen and Goldberg also produced with James Weaver while Ramsay McBean and Josh Fagen executive produced.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem also features a strong ensemble voice cast that includes Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michaelangelo), Hannibal Buress (Genghis Frog), Rose Byrne (Leatherhead), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), John Cena (Rocksteady), Jackie Chan (Splinter), Ice Cube (Superfly), Natasia Demetriou (Wingnut), Ayo Edebiri (April O’Neil), Giancarlo Esposito (Baxter Stockman), Post Malone (Ray Fillet), Brady Noon (Raphael), Seth Rogen (Bebop), Paul Rudd (Mondo Gecko), and Maya Rudolph (Cynthia Utrom).

The Heroes in a Half-Shell Return to the Big Screen

While the film serves as another reimagining, the plot will be familiar for longtime fans of the franchise. The synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is as follows:

“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

There have been many interations made for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise on the big and small screens. Mutant Mayhem will bring the Turtles back to the big screen for the first time since 2016 with the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the sequel to the live-action reboot that was released in 2014. There had prevoiusly been a trilogy of live-action feature films released between 1990 and 1993 followed by a standalone animated film, TMNT, which was released in 2007. Last year, the animated fiilm Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie was released directly to Netflix for streaming.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will be released in movie theaters on Aug. 2, 2023.
