  • David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown express their excitement and emotions about the show coming to an end, while teasing that the final season will be moving and larger in scale compared to previous seasons.

Stranger Things is coming to an end with its fifth season, after becoming one of the most popular and acclaimed productions from Netflix, being part of the first original globalized projects that the streaming company offered to the world.

The fourth season of the show created by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer set the bar really high, so the new installment will have to meet great expectations and present an ending worthy of the mythology of one of the most important fantasy horror series from the last few years.

The previous season ended with Eleven being able to weaken Vecna, but the Upside Down started to slowly take over Hawkins, which means the villain played by Jamie Campbell Bower is recovering while gathering a dark army of monsters to have a final battle against the protagonists. However, the final season will not only be epic and explosive, it will also get emotional.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast, David Harbour teased a very “moving” conclusion:

“I have not [read the finale script], but I know what it is. I know where we net out and it’s very, very moving. That is the term I will use, that is the one word I will use, is ‘moving.'”

Harbour’s co-star Millie Bobby Brown also spoke about her feelings about the show coming to an end, but also showing excitement about her future beyond it.

David Harbour Offers New Details About Stranger Things Final Season

Netflix

The team behind the series was actively working on the upcoming season when the writers strike begun, and they were able to make significant progress before pausing. In fact, David Harbour revealed that he has read some scripts for what’s coming next, teasing that the story will not pick up right after the end of season four, which means there could be a major time jump:

“Before the strike, we were sent scripts. They’re terrific, as per usual. They continue to outdo themselves, these currently-on-strikes writers, called the Duffer brothers. It’s a hell of an undertaking, too. The set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past. You gotta imagine where it starts, after where Season 4 ended, you watch us on that hill looking at the ash and the smoke, fires. And we’re gonna start somewhere after that, so you gotta imagine that the world is a different place. It’s great, it’ll take a while to shoot, which’ll be tough, since we can’t get started yet, but it is what it is.”

For the final season fo Stranger Things to take place a few weeks or months after the latest events would actually make sense, showing how much the Upside Down has advance over Hawkins and presenting an apparent calm while the main heroes wait for Vecna’s return and prepare for the definitive war against evil.
