Caleb McLaughlin Joins Tom Holland as Miles Morales in Spider-Man 4 Fan Poster

Summary

  • Miles Morales may be joining Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man film, it has been speculated among fans.
  • There has been no confirmation of this yet, but fans are already imagining the possibilities, such as in some new fan art.
  • Actor Caleb McLaughlin, known for his role in Stranger Things, has expressed interest in joining the superhero world, preferably in the DCU as Static Shock.

Miles Morales is coming to the big screen in live-action format at some point in the near future, and fans hope to see him joining forces with Peter Parker, maybe in Spider-Man 4, the next adventure of Tom Holland‘s version of the popular hero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the second part of Sony Pictures’ animated trilogy, the studio confirmed that they want to bring Miles Morales to a live-action format after the huge success the character has accomplished in the last couple of years. Since then, fans have been speculating whether he could be joining Holland in his fourth solo adventure as Peter Parker, which is currently in development.

For now, there’s been no confirmation about this actually happening, but that doesn’t stop fans from imagining it. On Instagram, artist @marvels.wolverine published a poster for Spider-Man 4, featuring Holland and Stranger Things’ Caleb McLaughlin as Miles Morales:

Peter and Miles have teamed up in the comic books several times, so both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures would have a lot of source material to develop an adventure with the two of them together.

Caleb McLaughlin Actually Wants to Join the DCU

Netflix

Although there’s no doubt Caleb McLaughlin would be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially playing Miles Morales, the actor has already expressed his desire to join the world of superheroes – although his first choice would actually not be a Marvel character at all.

Last year, the Stranger Things star revealed that if he could choose to play a superhero, it would be Static Shock, one of DC’s young heroes. Created by Milestone Comics founders Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, Derek T. Dingle, and Christopher Priest, he first appeared in Static #1 in 1993. His real name is Virgil Ovid Hawkins, and he’s a metahuman that gained several abilities after being exposed to a radioactive chemical known as Quantum Juice. Through the years he has been part of several DC teams like the Teen Titans, Young Justice or even the Justice League, and sometimes he’s been connected to S.T.A.R. Labs, so he has appeared alongside some other famous heroes from the comic book company.

For now, James Gunn hasn’t announced a Static Shock project as part of the first phase of the new DCU titled Gods & Monsters, but the character could certainly appear in the future of the franchise, especially since DC Studios is looking to get a fresh start mixing classic heroes with more modern characters such as Jaime Reyes.

Whether playing Miles Morales, Static Shock or any other young hero, Caleb McLaughlin would be a great choice for either Marvel Studios or DC Studios to add a rising star to their lines, especially considering the enormous popularity he has gained thanks to Stranger Things.
