Actor Hugh Jackman has been keeping his fans updated on his workout routine ever since it was announced that the actor would be a part of Deadpool 3. And his latest update once again shows of the Logan star’s dedication. The upcoming superhero movie will be directed by Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Jennifer Garner, Jackman, Rob Delaney, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Shioli Kutsuna, Brianna Hildebrand, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus. At this time, not much is known about the storyline for Deadpool 3, although there has been plenty of speculation about the upcoming film.
While production of Deadpool 3 was previously shut down due to the WGA and SAG strikes (the latter of which is still ongoing), being on pause hasn’t stopped the cast members from hanging out together, nor has it stopped Jackman from sharing workout updates with his fans.
Taking to Twitter (aka X), The X-Men actor shared a short clip of himself along with the caption “Hurts so good.” In the video, Jackson tries to look serious before breaking down laughing. Check it out below:

In the past, Jackman has discussed the intense training regimen that he follows in order to create his Wolverine figure. More recently during while chatting with The Guardian, Jackman opened up about reprising Wolverine for Deadpool 3 despite intending for 2017’s Logan to be his last appearance as the character, and revealed why he wanted to work with Reynolds on the superhero film. While discussing his feelings regarding saying goodbye to the character, the actor said:
“No, I was OK. I wasn’t tortured by it. When people would ask me [to reprise the role] — including Ryan, every five seconds — I was like: ‘I’m done.'”
But, despite initially wanting to move on from playing Wolverine, Jackman admitted that the idea of working on Deadpool 3 with Reynolds was simply too good to pass up. The Les Misérables star said:
“I just wanted to do it and I felt it in my gut … I get to punch the sh*t out of Ryan Reynolds every day.”
While plenty of info about Deadpool 3 still remains under wraps, the upcoming superhero movie’s director, Shawn Levy, has previously opened up about one aspect of the Marvel characters that won’t be brushed aside. In a recent interview, Levy noted that the upcoming superhero film won’t ignore Fox’s involvement with the Marvel. The director said:
“Deadpool and Wolverine are iconic Marvel character; more specifically, iconic Marvel-of-the-Fox-era characters. We’re not going to pretend: ‘Oh, we snap our fingers, and suddenly that Fox legacy doesn’t exist, and it shaped a lot of what we now know as the MCU.’ Fox also shaped Ryan’s career, Hugh’s career and my career. So there’s a lot of history there, and there’s a lot of Marvel history at Fox. And certainly that’s a part of our storytelling.”
As of right now, Deadpool 3 is expected to release on May 3, 2024.
