Stormfront’s Return in The Boys Season 3 Remains Uncertain Says Aya Cash

Not even Aya Cash knows if Stormfront will return in season 3 of The Boys. Though she wasn’t a part of season 1, Stormfront became one of the Amazon Prime Original’s standout characters when she debuted in the second season. Things came to a head at the end of the season when the newest addition to The Seven was left horrifically injured by Ryan’s heat vision, removing most of her limbs and leaving her a charred, bloody mess.

Stormfront’s injuries were clearly severe, but as a Supe, her odds of survival are much higher than that of your average person. Even so, there are no guarantees that we’ll see the dastardly character ever return to The Boys. Prior to her dismemberment, Stormfront was nationally exposed as a literal Nazi, so her days as one of the faces of The Seven are definitely over, regardless. Finding a way to reintroduce the character into the story in a meaningful way will certainly take some creativity.

For her part, Aya Cash is just as unsure as the fans if Stormfront will ever return. When asked about the potential return of the dastardly Supe in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, here’s what Cash had to say.

“I want to know if she’ll be back too. I’m not there now. I’m on a new Fox show now called This Country. My contract for The Boys was only for a year so, who knows? Maybe they can CGI my face in.”

Currently, The Boys is filming its third season in Canada, and the fact that Cash isn’t on set is a big indicator that Stormfront’s return isn’t in the cards at this time. That doesn’t mean that the character’s fate won’t be explained in some manner when the show returns, even if Cash isn’t shown. As the actress suggests, she could always be digitally inserted into the series somehow. Until season 3 wraps filming, it’s also possible Cash could arrive later to film some scenes if the writers figure out a way to reintroduce the character.

Last fall, Cash said that the season 2 finale “left the door open” for Stormfront to return, though there’s “not that much left of her. She’s not technically dead, but I think you’ll just have to see season 3 to find out what happened to her, [or] if she’s going to be around at all in her smaller form.”

Series showrunner Eric Kripke added: “She’s not dead. She’s just a stump. Among the writers and talking with Aya, we’re like, ‘Well, what is going to happen to Stumpfront?’ So we’ll see.”

One villain that we will be seeing in the new season is Soldier Boy, a Captain America parody played by Supernatural star Jensen Ackles. Kripke has teased that Homelander may have met his match with Soldier Boy, so it’s going to be interesting to see how these two interact in season 3. As of now, Amazon hasn’t yet set a premiere date for the third season of The Boys. This news comes to us from Entertainment Weekly.
