Action Sequel Nobody 2 With Bob Odenkirk Gets Exciting Update From Director

Timo Tjahjanto, the director behind the highly-anticipated action movie sequel Nobody, has taken to social media to confirm that the movie has now wrapped filming. Meaning audiences are all set to see Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad star Bob Odenkirk once again demonstrate his particular set of skills when his unassuming action hero Hutch Mansell returns to screens next year. “Wrapped. See you at the cinemas,” Tjahjanto said in a caption alongside images of a Nobody 2 clapperboard and himself sitting with Odenkirk. You can check out the post below.

Tjahjanto is known for directing a segment of the horror anthology V/H/S/2 and the horror outing May the Devil Take You but is best known for the acclaimed 2018 Indonesian action thriller The Night Comes for Us. Starring The Raid’s Joe Taslim and Iko Uwais, The Night Comes for Us is available to stream on Netflix and was praised at the time for its thrilling fight scenes and brutal and bloody violence. Which can only mean great things for Nobody 2.

Released back in 2021, the first Nobody sees Bob Odenkirk transformed into an unsuspecting action hero. Centering on Odenkirk as the seemingly mild-mannered Hutch Mansell, the story begins when two thieves break into his suburban home one night. The event unleashes Hutch’s long-simmering rage, triggering his dormant instincts and propelling him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills.

Plot details for Nobody 2 currently remain unknown, but the sequel has been written by Derek Kolstad, who penned both the first movie and the hugely popular John Wick series. Nobody 2 is all set to star Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Mckenna Grace, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz, with Basic Instinct and Total Recall star Sharon Stone now on board to play the movie’s main villain.

Nobody 2
is due to be released on August 15, 2025.

Timo Tjahjanto Brings More Bloody Action to Netflix With The Shadow Strays

Before hitting the big screen with Nobody 2, Timo Tjahjanto will bring more brutal, bloody, and critically acclaimed action ot Netflix with next month’s The Shadow Strays. The first reactions to the revenge action thriller have now emerged, with many heaping praise on the director’s continued success in bringing action movie thrills to audiences. @NextBestPicture’s Matt Neglia heaped praise on The Shadow Strays, calling the movie “hyperkinetic, violent mayhem from start to finish. At nearly two and a half hours, this blood-soaked, adrenaline-fueled tale of guardianship and the nature of violence packs quite a punch. Aurora Ribero pours everything into her physically and emotionally exhausting performance, crushing anyone in her path while captivating us in the process.”

@RamasScreen compares The Shadow Strays to the modern action movie masterpiece The Raid, saying, “Timo Tjahjanto’s THE SHADOW STRAYS was bloody awesome! Most satisfying hyper-violent action movie I’ve seen all year. It made me proud of being Indonesian. Brutal, inventive, stylized. Best fight sequences since “The Raid.” Aurora is a star in the making.”

Written and directed by Timo Tjahjanto, The Shadow Strays stars Aurora Ribero, Hana Malasan, Ali Fikry, Adipati Dolken, and Andri Mashadi, and is due to land on Netflix on October 17, 2024. The movie follows a mysterious 17-year-old assassin, Codename 13, who finds herself hellbent on setting a path of destruction against her mentor and the organization who hires her after they kidnap an 11-year-old boy that she has come to care for.
