The comedian Andy Dick disclosed that he experienced a medical crisis because he suffered a heart failure after taking too much of an unknown substance. The 58-year-old entertainer says the incident left him with significant brain damage, specifically “five to seven holes” in his brain. The news has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many users expressing little sympathy for the controversial figure.

Dick made the announcement himself, but he has not revealed when or how he became intoxicated. He has a long, public history of substance abuse and legal troubles. His claim of developing holes in his brain refers to a medical condition where substance use can cause lesions or dead tissue patches, known as infarcts or Olney’s lesions.

Online users created two main outcomes which demonstrated their critical responses through severe criticism and content, which included darkly humorous content. The main comment established the main point of the conversation: “Those holes were always there, Andy.” The users who started this thread added two more statements, which they wrote as “And, I suspect, in his heart as well” and “Or rather, where his heart should be.” Another user quipped, “5 to 7 brain holes, yet all we see is one asshole.”

Many comments reflected a deep-seated resentment tied to Dick’s past. The 1998 murder-suicide of Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn became the main topic which people discussed throughout the entire conversation. Multiple users reiterated the widely reported story that Andy Dick gave cocaine to Brynn Hartman at a party, triggering her relapse. One user commented that without Andy Dick, Phil Hartman would still be alive. The incident led to Jon Lovitz and Dick fighting each other, according to multiple witnesses who described the physical altercation.

People showed no sympathy toward the situation. One person declared, “I just looked in my jar of fucks, and not one to give about that asshole.” Another said simply, “Too bad it restarted.” Multiple people expressed astonishment that he remains alive today. “Legit thought he died 5 years ago,” one user admitted.
