As one of the favorites to land the role of Batman in the DCU, Alan Ritchson has not hid his interest in joining the franchise. However, it seems that it may not take shape in the form of the Caped Crusader, as the Reacher star has revealed he is not in the running for the coveted role.
During an interview with Variety, Ritchson was asked about James Gunn being a fan of his, and what that might mean for his chances of playing the DCU version of Batman. Ritchson indicated that he had spoken with Gunn about the role, but revealed that The Dark Knight is not in his future. Still, he hopes to join the DC Universe in some fashion.
“Well, it’s not rumour that James Gunn is a fan. He said it himself. And am I a fan of James Gunn? Absolutely. I don’t want to mislead people. Words have been exchanged about Batman. But I strongly don’t think that Batman is in my future. I do think there is something in my future with DC. And I would like that to remain true.”
