There was no missing Chloë at the MTV VMAs. The “Treat Me” singer dazzled in a Zigman gown entirely covered in silver sequins at the award show on Aug. 28. Her dress featured two major trends, a corseted bodice and a bold thigh-high slit — two details countless stars have worn on the red carpet this past year. The Wonder Woman-esque corset was lined with geometric stripes and sheer panels that wrapped all the way around the midsection.
With input from her go-to stylist, Jennifer Udechukwu, Chloë accessorized with several pieces of diamond jewelry, including chunky rings, a bracelet, and large stud earrings. She finished the look with silver ankle-strap sandals and a matching rectangular clutch and wore rhinestone-adorned acrylic nails for some added sparkle.
Chloë’s popular track “Have Mercy” is nominated for the best R&B award this year, up against H.E.R.’s “For Anyone,” The Weeknd’s “Out of Time,” Normani and Cardi B’s “Wild Side,” and more.
She was in fashionable company at the show, surrounded by other music stars who dressed to the nines for the evening. Lizzo wowed in a voluminous Jean Paul Gaultier gown, Sabrina Carpenter embraced the hip-cutout trend in Moschino, and Lil Nas X turned heads in a showstopping Harris Reed look featuring a circular headpiece.
