The NASCAR Cup Series Chase heads to Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday for the YellaWood 500, and the championship race is suddenly wide open again. Kyle Larson’s 49-point lead nearly disappeared after a rough outing at Phoenix last weekend, where Tyler Reddick took the checkered flag, and Larson finished near the back of the field. Larson still leads The Chase with 2,370 points, but Christopher Bell is now just five points behind, with Chase Briscoe 24 points back in third and Denny Hamlin 31 points behind in fourth.

With only three races remaining, Talladega could turn the entire championship picture upside down. Seven drivers are within 56 points of Larson, and superspeedway racing’s unpredictability means one massive wreck could scramble the standings. Talladega is famous for high-speed drafting, close finishes, and the dreaded Big One, making it one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking stops on the schedule. With the championship on the line and time running out, Sunday’s YellaWood 500 should be one of The Chase’s biggest wild cards.
The green flag drops in Talladega at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, and race fans across the country can watch every lap on Peacock.

Peacock Premium costs $12.99/month and includes the live broadcast, plus other sports, movies, and TV shows. Premium Plus runs $19.99/month and adds features like downloads and fewer ads on most content, although live sports still have commercials. Of course, since the race is on NBC, you can also watch for free with a 4K antenna from Amazon if your local station comes in clearly.
While Peacock is our favorite option for any races on NBC, you can also catch Sunday’s race on any of these other streaming platforms, as long as they carry NBC where you live:
-
fuboTV ($63.99 for the first month, then $88.99/month with a 5-day free trial)
-
Hulu + Live TV ($89.99/month with a 3-day free trial; also includes Disney+ and ESPN Unlimited)
-
YouTube TV ($59.99/month for the first two months, then $82.99/month with a variable free trial)
NASCAR fans who want to get closer to the action should also check out HBO Max. Its Driver Cam feature lets you ride along with individual drivers, listen to team radio, or follow four cars at once with multiview. HBO Max Standard starts at $18.49/month, making it an interesting alternative if you’d rather follow your favorite drivers than stick with the regular TV broadcast.
