Montauk-born and raised fine art photographer James Katsipis will debut an exciting new partnership with Bagatelle Montauk and unveil Solitude during an intimate private VIP dinner and cocktail party. The captivating new exhibition will feature a 15-piece never-before-seen presentation honoring his lifelong connection to Montauk. Set against the spectacular waterfront backdrop of Bagatelle Montauk at Gosman’s Dock, the evening will bring together art, hospitality, ocean culture, and the unmistakable energy of summer in Montauk.

Born and raised at the “End of the World” in Montauk, Katsipis has spent more than 20 years transforming his lifelong connection to Oceans into a distinctive body of fine art photography. The ocean has remained his primary muse, shaping both his life and his lens. His work is a technical and emotional study of the natural elements, capturing the raw, cinematic energy of the coast from his home shores in Montauk to remote destinations around the world.

An explorer by nature, Katsipis has traveled across Iceland, Peru, Ireland, Panama, and beyond, immersing himself in extraordinary coastal landscapes and capturing the power, beauty, and emotion of the natural world. His photography has been featured in fine art galleries, books, magazines, major campaigns, and private collections worldwide. He has also collaborated with an impressive roster of global brands, including Estée Lauder, La Mer, Donna Karan, Volcom, Patagonia, and Pucci, establishing him as a compelling voice in contemporary ocean, adventure, and fine art photography.

Solitude brings together Katsipis’ signature ocean and coastal photography with a striking selection of newly unveiled works. The never-before-seen pieces featured below explore Montauk at twilight, moving between stillness and motion while capturing the fleeting light, powerful atmosphere, and deep emotion that define the East End.

Bagatelle Montauk brings the glamorous spirit of the French Riviera to one of Montauk’s most iconic waterfront settings. Located at Gosman’s Dock, the restaurant celebrates French Mediterranean dining, fresh seafood, sweeping marina views, music, atmosphere, and Bagatelle’s signature sense of joie de vivre. This dynamic partnership creates a natural connection between Bagatelle’s vibrant coastal world and Katsipis’ lifelong relationship with the sea.

The private dinner will take place on August 27 at Bagatelle Montauk, located at Gosman’s Dock, and will celebrate the debut of Solitude. With the harbor as its breathtaking backdrop, the evening will bring together collectors, friends, tastemakers, and members of the Montauk community for an unforgettable night of art, beauty, exceptional food, and summer energy.
