The biggest sci-fi action adventure movie of the year, Jurassic World Rebirth, has finally set a streaming release date. Hitting theaters on July 2, 2025, the dinosaur sequel grossed $867 million worldwide, making it one of 2025’s most successful films. After a three-year absence, fans were more than ready to jump back into the long-running franchise, which featured a fresh crop of faces separate from the previous trilogy that concluded in 2022.
Per Variety, Jurassic World Rebirth will make its streaming debut on Peacock beginning October 30, 2025. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, the movie features an all-star cast including Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein. Taking place five years after Jurassic World Dominion, this time around our merry band of adventurers is on the hunt for some biomaterial samples which hold the key to a medical breakthrough. “Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
Will There Be a Sequel to ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’?

Holding a 50% rating from critics and a 71% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, Jurassic World Rebirth proved to be yet another divisive entry in the long-running franchise. Called “a pale imitation of a true classic” by some, and an “excellent launchpad for the next potential trilogy in the series” by others, it’s clear that no one could really agree on whether Jurassic World Rebirth was a hit or not.
Numbers don’t lie, though, and with its successful box office take, there’s no denying that there’s still a lot of life left in the series. That being said, Universal has yet to make an official announcement regarding the future of the franchise. Insider Daniel Ritchman (a.k.a. DanielRPK) has stated that a new film is in the works which will see Johansson return to reprise her role of Zora Bennett, claiming that it will be a direct sequel to Jurassic World Rebirth. Again, that rumor has yet to be confirmed by Universal, but given the success of the latest entry, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true.
As for whether Edwards will return to direct, that’s another story altogether that conflicts with reports that a sequel is on the books. He’s stated in the past that Jurassic World Rebirth was envisioned as a standalone movie. As such, he’s remained mum on what the future holds, or if he’ll even be involved in another movie going forward.
