The first 15-minutes of the highly anticipated animated adventure, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, have been unveiled at CinemaCon, giving us a taste of what’s to come when we are thrown back into the madness of the multiverse with Miles Morales. Coming courtesy of ComicBook.com’s Cameron Bonomolo, who was in attendance at the event, the footage begins by reuniting us with Gwen Stacy in Earth-65 where she “sneaks through the window of her apartment building” and has a conversation with her father.
“‘We caught a break in the Spider-Man case,’” he tells Gwen. We then meet none other than The Vulture, who “speaks Italian in stylized subtitles, Da Vinci style.” Gwen quickly suits up, “quipping the Vulture is a ‘Renaissance man.’ Adrian Toomes has lethal claws, a 40-foot wingspan of razor blade sharp wings, and modern weaponry like drones.” The pair then do battle in a museum.

And then, the action really starts. “Suddenly, a multiversal portal opens. A glowing red web shoots out. Out leaps Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man 2099 of Earth-298. Gwen asks if he’s ‘the Blue Panther.’ No, but he’s from another dimension. Gwen and Miguel double team attack Vulture.” With Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 now in the fray, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse wastes no time in introducing another variant, Jessica Drew. She “rides out of the portal on a super-spy motorcycle,” wearing “a two-toned suit of red and black.” Interestingly, Gwen soon notices that Jessica is “five months pregnant.”
After battling the Vulture, which results in Gwen, Miguel, and Jessica stopping a downed helicopter from landing on a crowd of onlookers by catching it in a web, Gwen comes face-to-face with “her father, gun drawn. ‘You are under arrest for the murder of Peter Parker!’ Trapped, Gwen unmasks to reveal the shamed face of Gwen Stacy. ‘I thought about telling you,’ she says of her secret identity. About the late Peter Parker, ‘I didn’t know it was him!’”
‘I’m not a murderer… I’m your daughter,’ Gwen says. Captain Stacy reads his daughter her rights and arrests her. Miguel leaps into action to save Gwen, using “a futuristic device that temporarily traps Captain Stacy in a force field bubble.” Miguel then gives Gwen “a temporal wrist device,” before the movie cuts to “BROOKLYN. Earth-610.”
Miles Morales is Back & Will Once Again Be Thrown into the Madness of the Multiverse

We are then reintroduced to Miles Morales, who is seen “Spidey-ing around and having a blast.” his parents are meeting with a guidance counselor and, in classic Spider-Man style, Miles is late. “Miles has been missing classes but wants to attend a top physics program at Columbia University. Their quantum research is the key to figuring out how to open doors to other dimensions,” the description continues. Suddenly, something triggers Miles’ spider-sense and Miles rushes out of the meeting, “’Your son is lying to you,’ the guidance counselor tells Miles’ mom. ‘And I know you know it.'”
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Oscar Isaac, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, and Issa Rae.
