Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F actor Taylour Paige has heaped praise on returning star Eddie Murphy, and says she took it upon herself throughout filming to “get the man who made the world laugh to laugh.” Discussing the long-awaited action sequel with Empire, Paige revealed her love for some of Murphy’s prior comedic credits such as The Nutty Professor and Dr. Dolittle and reveled in making the Hollywood icon “crack.”
“I grew up watching The Nutty Professor and Dr. Dolittle. It was like I knew him — it was surreal. The objective was to try and get the man who made the world laugh to laugh. I found it quite fun to crack him.”
Paige joins the Beverly Hills Cop franchise as Axel Foley’s estranged daughter, Jane Saunders, who now works in Beverly Hills as a criminal defense attorney. Continuing, the actor, who has starred in the likes of Zola and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, explained that she endeavored to keep things light while filming the upcoming Netflix action comedy…

Fans of Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley have been patiently awaiting his return for some time. The last audiences saw of the series was in Beverly Hills Cop III way back in 1994. The fourth Beverly Hills Cop finds Eddie Murphy reprising one of his most iconic roles on Netflix, and follows Axel Foley as he returns to Beverly Hills once again to investigate corruption within the force of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

William “Billy” Rosewood, John Ashton as Sgt. John Taggart, Bronson Pinchot as Serge, and Paul Reiser as Det. Jeffrey Friedman, Axel’s partner in the Detroit Police Department. The rest of the cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper, The Dark Knight Rises) as the no-nonsense police officer ex-boyfriend of Paige’s Jane, as well as Mark Pellegrino (Mulholland Drive, Supernatural), and Kevin Bacon (Footloose, Tremors).
