Everything We Know About ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3

Although Paramount+ has yet to issue an official renewal or release date, Tulsa King star Sylvester Stallone told his Instagram followers that Season 3 is in the works in September 2024. Months since the boastful announcement, more details about the Taylor Sheridan mob drama have trickled down, including when the series may return, casting tidbits, probable storylines, and more.

At last glance, Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) bolstered his criminal empire after taking on the Triad members led by Jackie Ming (Rich Ting). With one rival gang out of the way, another will undoubtedly crop up and challenge Manfredi’s crew as he seizes more power and control of the Midwest. However, given the terrifying cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, Tulsa King has plenty of directions to go when Season 3 inevitably returns.

‘Tulsa King’s Gangster Premise

Taylor Sheridan created Tulsa King for Paramount+, a dark mob dramedy TV series that launched in November 2022. Sylvester Stallone stars as Dwight Manfredi, an Italian-American mafia capo from New York who is released from a 25-year prison sentence and sent to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Morbid humor results from the fish-out-of-water scenario as Manfredi adjusts to society, from his metropolitan lifestyle to the much different Midwestern mores.

Left to round up a new mob crew among the strangers and locals in Oklahoma, Manfredi must figure out who to trust to bring into his criminal family and continue earning money through illegal rackets for his bosses back home. With one eye over his shoulder at all times, Manfredi carefully recruits a crew that includes chauffeur Tyson Mitchell (Jay Will), pot-pushing financier Bodhi Geigerman (Martin Starr), bookmaker Manny Truisi (Max Casella), bar-owning lieutenant Mitch Keller (Garrett Hedlund), and others.

As Manfredi builds his Midwestern crime syndicate, he is resisted by the rival Invernizzi family, led by Don Chickie (Domenick Lombardozzi) and his number-one capo, Vince Antonacci (Vincent Piazza). Manfredi is also romantically involved with ATF agent Stacy Beale (Andrea Savage), which puts him into a legal bind he must skillfully navigate.

Who Will Star in Tulsa King Season 3?

Although Paramount+ has yet to announce an official Season 3 renewal, Stallone assured fans there will be more Tulsa King episodes ahead. In September 2024, Stallone announced on his Instagram:

“I am elated and so proud of our cast because our show has gone up 75% over last year, which is unheard of, and Season 2 got 100% on ROTTEN TOMATOES! Also it’s the Second most popular show in the WORLD across all streaming services! Thank you so much. We are working on the third season at the moment.”

In addition to working on Season 3, Deadline reported in November 2024 that Stallone is hashing out a deal to star in two more Tulsa King Seasons, meaning fans can expect the show to reach Season 4 at the least. Again, Paramount has yet to confirm these details, but given Stallone’s enthusiasm, a renewal is inevitable.

Tulsa King Cast and Character Guide

One of 2022’s most successful series is Tulsa King. Here is the cast and character guide.

Tulsa King Season 1 premiered in November 2022 and Season 2 concluded in November 2024. If the same production schedule is held for season three, Tulsa King is poised to return in autumn 2026.

Beyond Stallone leading the way, Hedlund, Casella, Starr, and Will are set to return in Season 3, as will others in Manfredi’s orbit. When Tulsa King returns for Season 3, fans should expect to see more of Dwight’s new lover Margaret (Dana Delany), sister Joanne (Annabella Sciorra), and estranged daughter Tina (Tatiana Zapardino). However, after failing to convict Dwight in Season 2, Stacy Beale was dispatched to Alaska and her Season 3 return is unlikely.

Regarding Manfredi’s rivals, the Invernizzi gang (minus the whacked Chickie) will return along with Kansas mob boss Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo), defector Goodie Carangi (Chris Caldovino), and Jackie Ming’s business associate Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough).

Where Tulsa King Season 2 Left Off

Tulsa King Season 2 left off with a dramatic cliffhanger when Dwight and Margaret were awoken in bed at gunpoint. The masked assailants abduct Dwight and tell him he now works for them, leaving viewers wondering who the gunmen are and what their motives could be.

Whether it’s Jackie Ming exacting revenge for Manfredi’s Triad treatment or Dwight’s New York superiors is yet to be seen. After all, Dwight refused to work with the new bosses in New York. The masked men could also be part of Bevilaqua’s Kansas City crew looking to quash all Midwestern rivals. It could also involve Cal Thresher, who agreed to a truce with the Manfredis but could plot something more when the popular gangster show returns.

‘Tulsa King’ Isn’t Nearly as Gritty as Stallone’s ’70s Gangster Movie

Tulsa King isn’t Sylvester Stallone’s only notable gangster-related production. He once starred in a popular ’70s gangster movie.

Tulsa King’s Season 2 finale also saw Don Chickie get whacked by Bevilaqua, solidifying a 50-50 split between his family and the Manfredis. Elsewhere, Keller continues to go legitimate by opening a used car lot in his real name, with Manfredi funding the operation. These unresolved storylines will be the undoubted focus of Season 3, while new rackets, whacking, rivals, conflicts, and other personal-professional dilemmas crop up for the Manfredi crime syndicate.
