Jason Statham Has a New LinkedIn Profile as ‘A Working Man’ Marketing Campaign

Jason Statham

’s on-screen persona has always centered on tough-as-nails characters with a love of shooting things, punching things, driving things…and the latest piece of ingenious marketing for his new movie lets you look through his impressive resume of work experience. In a surprising appearance, Statham has appeared on LinkedIn, with a profile that charts his work legacy – although he really doesn’t seem able to stick with a job for long.

A Working Man

sees Statham teaming up once again with The Beekeeper director David Ayer, and with a decent Rotten Tomatoes score from critics, it seems that the ever-popular action hero is set for another crowd-pleasing hit. What is more, is that the film could well kick-start a new franchise for the actor, being based on a series of novels. The synopsis of the movie reads:

Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss’s daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.

According to Statham’s LinkedIn profile, this movie has given him experience as a construction foreman, and he has gained the skills of managing construction projects and “Hunted down the human traffickers involved in the abduction of owners’ daughter.” As you do.

For those looking for a multi-skilled worker who likes to take things to the extreme, then Mr. Statham stacks up as someone you probably should connect with. His profile description sells him as the perfect “open to work” candidate for pretty much any job you could want. It reads:

“I’m a working man looking for a new employment opportunity. I keep my head down and my nose clean, but when the powerful hurt the powerless, I can’t stand by and do nothing. That’s when my shadowy past and extensive military training come into play, and I prove to be an exceptionally skilled killer, uniquely qualified to take down whatever underworld organization or villainous bureaucrat gets in my way. I’m Jason Statham and I am #OpenToWork.”

The profile itself is a hilarious read for anyone who knows anything about Statham’s long list of action movies, from his beekeeping days eluding that, as well as working with shadowy forces, he “also kept literal bees,” and while working as a freelance “transporter” he “followed all local traffic laws within reason.”

After many years of seeing the same old poster releases and standard trailers, many movies are starting to take a different approach to marketing and being more inventive again. Recent movie releases like Longlegs have created incredible marketing campaigns that have caught attention online in a crowded arena. A Working Man has now taken an unexpectedly corporate route to attract attention ahead of the film’s release this weekend.
