In July 2021, it was reported that Ulliel had joined the cast of Moon Knight as Anto Mogart/Midnight Man, an obscure villain from the pages of Marvel Comics created by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz. Marvel just recently released the brand-new trailer for the series, which will stream on Disney+ on March 30, 2022. His IMDb listing shows him as being credited in all six episodes of Season 1. However, one of his biggest roles comes is perhaps one he is best known for portraying Hannibal Lecter in 2007’s Hannibal Rising. This is a prequel to Red Dragon, Hannibal and Silence of the Lambs. He was also the lead in the 2010 Martin Scorsese-directed Bleu de Chanel men’s fragrance commercial. His final film was the French romantic comedy Sibyl with Virginie Efira and Adèle Exarchopoulos, which competed for Cannes’ Palme d’Or in 2019.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our friend and colleague Gaspard Ulliel. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this time,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement. Any other details regarding this tragedy have not been released yet, and no word on funeral arrangements at this time. With the character being in all six episodes, it is possible that this character could have ended the arc in season 1. However, we don’t know the details of the show and if a season 2 has been planned just yet. Either way, this is a huge loss at a such a young age, and our thoughts and prayers also go out to his friends and family during this very difficult time.
