Netflix has unveiled a new look at A House of Dynamite, a star-studded political thriller headed to cinemas and streaming this October. Kathryn Bigelow, the Oscar-winning director behind The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, has returned with a new film that follows a White House in the aftermath of a missile being launched at the United States.
The new look at A House of Dynamite includes Rebecca Ferguson on call as a missile seemingly hits the United States. Plot details are slim, but audiences should expect to see Ferguson, alongside Idris Elba, Jared Harris, and Greta Lee, among others, race to find out who is responsible for the attack on U.S. soil. A trailer has yet to be released, but viewers should be getting that soon enough. The film is headed to select theaters before releasing on streaming on Netflix on October 24. A House of Dynamite is Bigelow’s long-awaited return to feature filmmaking since releasing Detroit back in 2017. The crime thriller based on the real-life story of the 1967 Detroit riots was another sensational and gripping entry in her filmography. However, most probably did not expect to wait almost eight years for another anxiety-inducing thriller from the Academy Award-winning filmmaker. Bigelow is quite selective with her feature-length projects, which makes A House of Dynamite an especially exciting release for 2025. Fortunately, audiences will have the chance to see it in theaters despite Bigelow’s partnership with Netflix.
