Get ready to say hello to the Bennet sisters once again in the Netflix adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice. The upcoming six-part limited series will transport fans back to the early 1800s, when the Bennet family resided in England. This particular story follows the second eldest of the Bennet sisters, Elizabeth, as she falls in love with a dashing, upper-class gentleman named Mr. Darcy. Netflix has shared the first official photo from the production while also unveiling the full cast list — and fans will likely recognize a name or two among the cast members.
According to Netflix, Emma Corrin (The Crown) will take on the role of Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) will play Mr. Darcy. Meanwhile, Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) will portray Mr. Bennet and Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) will play Mrs. Bennet. Other members of the star-studded cast include Freya Mavor (Industry) as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) as Lydia Bennet, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) as Mr. Wickham, Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag) as Mr. Collins and Fiona Shaw (Andor) as Lady Catherine de Bourg, in addition to newcomers Hollie Avery and Hopey Parish as Kitty and Mary Bennet. Talk about a stacked cast.

‘Pride and Prejudice’ Has Been Adapted Many Times
First published in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has been adapted for the screen repeatedly over the years, including a 1995 BBC miniseries and the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. Netflix adapted another Austen novel, Persuasion, in 2022, but the Dakota Johnson-led effort was met with a slew of negative reviews.
Not much has been revealed about the upcoming Pride and Prejudice adaptation. For now, we’re not sure when the series will premiere on the streaming platform or who else is tied to the project. But we couldn’t be more excited to see the Bennet sisters — and possibly that infamous hand flex — back on our television screens.
