After years on the sidelines, Kathryn Bigelow is back in the director’s chair for Netflix’s star-studded political thriller. The upcoming film follows the United States confronting the hostility of nuclear war after a missile is launched at the nation. With Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba leading an ensemble cast, early reviews suggest another hit is on the way, and the latest trailer teases an explosive return for one of the greatest living directors at the moment.
Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for A House of Dynamite, which features Ferguson, Elba, Anthony Ramos, Greta Lee and a bevy of other movie stars in a stacked ensemble cast. As the new footage suggests, a nuclear war becomes a possible outcome of a missile launched at the United States, whose origin remains a mystery. The film covers the tense situation through the perspective of people in the government, featuring Bigelow’s signature knack for bringing ultrarealism to the big screen. You can check out the trailer below.
A House of Dynamite will land in theaters on October 10 and stream on Netflix on October 24. The rest of the cast features Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent), Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Tracy Letts (Lady Bird), Anthony Ramos (Twisters), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Moses Ingram (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Jason Clarke (Oppenheimer), Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee (Reacher), Brittany O’Grady (The Consultant), Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), Willa Fitzgerald (Strange Darling), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Altered Carbon), Kyle Allen (West Side Story), and Kaitlyn Dever (The Last of Us).
