NFL Free Agency Signings That Could Prove Impactful for Super Bowl Runs

NFL Free Agency Signings That Could Prove Impactful for Super Bowl Runs

NFL free agency is well underway, and most of the most impactful players have been taken off the market. Several teams have made big splashes that could alter their Super Bowl odds for next season.

While there is much to catch up on, below, we’ll take a look at some of the major offseason moves that are likely to shape teams’ Super Bowl odds.

The Bengals Locking Up Their Wide Receivers

Fans who bet on the Bengals last year would have been better off spending their money elsewhere. But the Bengals are back in a significant way after re-signing Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to massive contract extensions. With Joe Burrow getting both of his weapons back, this team’s offence looks to be one of the best in the league. The NFL is unpredictable, and betting on a team like the Bengals can be like playing roulette at one of the best online casinos for real money. But with their two superstar wideouts back, it is a safe bet that this offence will be dangerous.

The Rams Signing Davante Adams

Davante Adams has been one of the NFL’s top receivers for the past decade, although his age is catching up to him. Still, he can be a difference-maker, and the Los Angeles Rams, who took the Philadelphia Eagles the distance in the playoffs, now have him. This positions the Rams, who have a top-notch young defensive core, Matt Stafford, and Puka Nacua, as a viable Super Bowl contender. While their odds aren’t the highest on most sports betting sites, watch out because this roster is now dangerous.

The Chiefs Choosing a Left Tackle

This move was a massive roll of the dice for the Chiefs. Their offensive line struggled last year, and they needed a new left tackle. So, the Chiefs went out and spent big, signing Jaylon Moore to a $30 million deal. This is the equivalent of a big gamble on an online casino, as Moore is incredibly unproven. He has started 12 games in his career and has primarily been a backup for the San Francisco 49ers. Considering how important protecting Patrick Mahomes’ blind side is, this move could either be a smashing success or a catastrophic failure. A lot is riding on Moore’s performance.

Denver Adding to the Defence

The Broncos made the playoffs unexpectedly last year, and they don’t seem satisfied this offseason. They have gone out and added two top-notch players to what was already an elite defence, signing Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga from the San Francisco 49ers. Both are Pro Bowl-caliber players when healthy and add to positions of weakness for the Broncos. Now, this seems like a team that could take a very serious next step and become one of the league’s most dangerous teams. Their Super Bowl odds are still criminally low on most sportsbooks.

The Eagles Adding Azeez Ojulari

Every offseason, it feels like the Eagles take a major gamble on someone that ends up paying off in a big way. While there hasn’t been an A-List addition so far this offseason, the signing of Azeez Ojulari was a sneaky great addition. Ojulari is an athletic edge rusher who had six sacks in 11 games last year and has the potential to be a double-digit sack guy if he stays healthy for a whole season. This is a position of need for the Eagles, and they added a top player for just $4 million. This is a smart gamble for a front office that always seems to make the right bets.

The Bears Adding to the Interior

The Bears have an exciting young quarterback, but he took a beating all season last year with an offensive line that could not hold up. The team took very real steps to address that problem, adding three new starters through free agency and trade. The Bears went out and got Jonah Jackson, Joe Thuney, and Drew Dalman, and now, what has long been a weakness looks like an area of strength. The Bears’ Super Bowl odds are still low, but this is a young team with the potential to blossom into a real threat in short order.

The Lions Signing D.J. Reed

The Lions were a Super Bowl favourite for much of last season, but their cornerback group always needed some work. This offseason, the Lions went out and got the best corner on the market in D.J. Reed, who had previously been a key player for the New York Jets. Now, they are more likely to have a top-notch defence, particularly with the return of Aidan Hutchinson. This is a team that many see as the likely favourite to win their division and make a deep playoff run, so watch out.
