Golden Globe winner Brian Cox has penned a heartfelt tribute to the hugely popular series, Succession. The actor, who played the manipulative patriarch Logan Roy throughout the show, took to social media to heap praise on his experience working on Succession, calling it “certainly the greatest work experience ever,” and applauding the cast and crew who have worked so well to bring the saga of the Roy family to screens.
“We have now come to the end. And what has been, in my career, certainly the greatest work experience ever. The harmony between crew and cast was truly amazing. It was on it’s way to become a great series but the love and commitment from crew to cast and writers, made it memorable. I would like to thank all of us in the making and creating of this show from the very bottom of my heart.”
Created by Jesse Armstong and first airing back in 2018, Succession centers on the Roy family, the all-powerful owners of the global media and entertainment conglomerate, Waystar RoyCo. A fight for control begins when the health of current family patriarch, Logan Roy, grows increasingly uncertain.

Starring a large ensemble cast that includes Hiam Abbass as Marcia Roy, Kieran Culkin as Roman Roy, Natalie Gold as Rava Roy, Alan Ruck as Connor Roy, Sarah Snook as Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy, Nicholas Braun as Greg Hirsch, Peter Friedman as Frank Vernon, Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans, and Brian Cox as Logan Roy, as well as Rob Yang, Dagmara Domińczyk, Arian Moayed, J. Smith-Cameron, Justine Lupe, David Rasche, and Fisher Stevens, Succession has been a huge critical success since the very beginning, and has now come to a successful end following the finale of its fourth season.

The Succession Finale Has Been Met With Critical Acclaim

The Succession finale, which aired over the weekend, has been met with critical acclaim and many have praised how well it wraps up the show and cements it as one television’s very best. MovieWeb’s own Josie Greenwood calls the finale the “Perfect Tragic Conclusion” and says…
“Like the characters themselves, who believed in their own agency, we kept thinking that each attempt would be the time they could win, but of course, it never happened. There is no other way the story could have ended, so even though there was tragedy instead of triumph, failure instead of success, the ending is still satisfactory, as the cycle is finally complete.”
As for Brian Cox, he was sad to leave the show a little too early, being killed off in the early part of season four. “I was fine with it, ultimately, but I did feel a little bit rejected,” the actor said following the shocking events. “You know, I felt a little bit like all the work I’ve done [is being overlooked] and finally I’m going to, you know, end up as an ear on a carpet of a plane.”
