Alyssa Milano Set to Write Series Adaptation of Things I’m Seeing Without You

Alyssa Milano will be penning the series adaptation of Peter Bognanni’s Things I’m Seeing Without You, Variety reports. The book tells the story of a teenage girl dealing with her boyfriend’s suicide. A+E Studios is developing the series with Range Media Partners. Tim Mason (Work in Progress) will serve as showrunner and Oscar-winner Peter Farrelly (Green Book) will direct. Milano, Farrelly, and Mason will also serve as executive producers alongside The Mother Company’s Samantha Kurtzman-Counter and Abbie Schiller.

Bognanni’s Things I’m Seeing Without You follows the story of 17-year-old Tess as she navigates grief after the death of her boyfriend Jonah. The two never physically met but built a loving relationship through texts, tweets, and emails. After Jonah’s suicide, a confused and brokenhearted Tess continues to write to Jonah. During that time, Tess’ world gets even more complicated when she begins living with her estranged father, Duncan.

Milano, known for her work as an actress, has several other projects in the works. In January, news came out that Milano was executive producing a tv adaptation of The White House Doctor memoir for Fox. She’s also set to pen and star in the Lifetime movie Alyssa Milano for Mayor.

Currently, there is no network or streamer connected to the Things I’m Seeing Without You.

Milano gained popularity as a child actress during the 1980s when she starred in Who’s the Boss? The popular sitcom starred Tony Danza, Judith Light, and Katherine Helmond. Milano played Danza’s daughter, Samantha Micelli. Earlier this month, Danza revealed that conversations regarding a possible series sequel were still ongoing. Milano is set to return for the sequel.

After playing Samantha Micelli for eight years until 1992, Milano took more adult roles, starting with the made-for-television movie Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story, playing Amy Fisher. In the 1990s, Milano appeared on the three last seasons of Melrose Place as Jennifer Mancini. In 1998, she was most notably cast in the original Charmed series, where she played Phoebe Halliwell for the show’s entire eight seasons.

Milano also appeared on other series including My Name is Earl, Mistresses, Insatiable and Project Runway: All-Stars as host. Milano has appeared in many films since 1984, including Commando and Fear. She previously worked with Farrelly on The Now.

Milano is also known for her role in the #MeToo movement. In 2017, the actress posted a message encouraging sexual assault survivors to share their stories.
