In a recent interview with ComicBook, Gimple expressed his excitement about the upcoming episodes, which are currently in development under the watchful eyes of showrunner David Zabel and executive producers Reedus and McBride. Gimple described the season as “beautiful” and “intense,” drawing an intriguing comparison to “an indie French horror movie.”

“I can’t say the when of it, because I guess people will kill me.”

“I’m very worried to say too much because I have the finale in my mind, so I’m not going to go that far with it. It’s a beautiful season, an intense season,” Gimple said in an interview for his new series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, likening Daryl Dixon to “an indie French horror movie.”

The debut season had viewers riveted, witnessing Daryl Dixon’s unexpected plight in France, a role brought to life by Norman Reedus. The search for Rick Grimes and Michonne, played by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira respectively, took an unforeseen twist, culminating in the exciting disclosure of a mysterious figure’s return. This twist set the stage for the arrival of an old friend, Carol (Melissa McBride), in Freeport, Maine, in search of the missing Daryl.
