Hayden Christensen’s path to Star Wars redemption has almost been parallel to that of Anakin Skywalker, and his journey might not be over yet. Having been heavily criticized for his original appearance as the Jedi who would go on to become the fearsome Lord Vader, Christensen built on his character in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and then appeared to be done with the role. However, he made a triumphant return to the franchise in the Disney+ shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, and now Christensen would “love to get to do more.”
The idea of Hayden Christensen returning to his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader seemed to be as far away as the galaxy in which the character resides until just a couple of years ago, when it was revealed that the actor would be joining former costar Ewan McGregor in Obi-Wan Kenobi. From the moment he appeared on-screen, to his final appearance as a fully formed Vader, fans of the franchise were delighted to see Christensen’s comeback.

Now, following his most recent appearance as Anakin in this year’s Ahsoka, Christensen has responded to the idea of returning to the role again in the future. Speaking on The Dagobah Dispatch podcast, the actor said:
I would love to get to do more, I would love to get to continue with Star Wars. We’ll see. I don’t know what the future holds, if such an opportunity presents itself, I’ll be there with a big smile on my face. If it doesn’t, I feel really grateful for getting to come back and do the work that I did, both in Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.
Hayden Christensen Would Appear in a Darth Vader Spin-Off
Lucasfilm Ltd.
There are some movie villains that have retained their position as characters with a real presence thanks to the clever decision to not overuse them. While horror movies churn out more and more installments centered on icons of the genre, the lack of Darth Vader projects out there is part of the reason for the character not becoming a tired and overused gimmick.
However, Hayden Christensen’s recent appearances as both Anakin and Vader have proven that there is a huge appetite to see more of the Sith Lord in other projects. That is something the actor has expressed an interest in. Speaking with ETOnline, Christensen previously said:
“Yeah you know, I mean absolutely. I think this is a character that sort of resonates in our culture in a very kind of profound way, and there’s certainly more there to explore. Like you said there are so many stories that have been told in these other mediums and I would love to get to continue my journey with him.”
From his most recent comments, it seems that the desire to return to the Star Wars franchise is strong in this one. While there are currently no plans for Hayden to appear in any more Star Wars projects, there are many fans who would welcome him back if the chance came around.
