Dead to Me is coming to an end. After three seasons, the popular Netflix show starring Christina Applegate, and Linda Cardellini will bid farewell.
Season 3 will mark the final chapter of the story of Jen Harding (Christina Applegate), a real estate agent who’s recently become a widow and her quest to solve the crime of her husband’s death due to a hit-and-run. Along the way, she finds herself involuntarily tangled in a precarious situation along with newfound friend Judy Hale, whom she met in a therapy group for people who’ve suffered the death of a loved one.
The show also stars James Marsden as Ben/Steve Wood. The actor is also known for his roles in Enchanted and The Best of Me.

Dead to Me was created and executive produced by Liz Feldman, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum. It premiered on Netflix in 2019, and it’s been nominated for many awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2020 for Outstanding Comedy Series, and a GLAAD Media Award for the same category, among others.
In 2020, Creator and Executive Producer Liz Feldman took home the Writer Guild of America award for Best Television Episodic Comedy for the Pilot.
Christina Applegate Has Led Other Famous Roles

Christina Applegate rose to stardom in the 1980s playing Kelly Bundy in the critically acclaimed show Married with Children, also starring Ed O’Neil as the now mythical Al Bundy and Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy. She later starred in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy (2004) and its sequel Anchorman 2:The Legend Continues(2013), playing Veronica Corningstone opposite Will Ferell and Steve Carell. She won an Emmy for her guest role in Friends, starring as Rachel’s sister Amy Green in two episodes. Christina Applegate was recently honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Linda Cardellini got her big break playing Lindsay Weir in Freaks and Geeks, and she has also played leading roles in E.R and Bloodline. She starred as Velma in the Scooby-Doo live-action feature films alongside Freddie Prinze Jr.
In 2021, Christina Applegate was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis during the filming of the last season of Dead to Me, and she was determined to finish it after the diagnosis.

Applegate recently told the New York Times:
“I had an obligation to Liz [Feldman, creator and showrunner] and to Linda [Cardellini], to our story,” The actress said. “The powers that be were like, ‘Let’s just stop. We don’t need to finish it. Let’s put a few episodes together.’ I said, ‘No. We’re going to do it, but we’re going to do it on my terms.'”
