The Syfy channel has found another hit with their current show Resident Alien. And it looks like we have a teaser for the brand new season coming out soon. If you are not familiar with the show let me give you a little story background: “After crash-landing on Earth, an alien sent to wipe out humanity kills and takes on the identity of a vacationing pathology physician. He is asked to do an autopsy on the town’s doctor, who died of unknown circumstances. He wrestles with the moral dilemma of his secret mission, while also dealing with a 9-year-old boy who can see him as an alien.” Now let’s take a look at the brand new teaser from Syfy.
Syfy’s Resident Alien also debuted a new season 2 sneak peek and featurette out of NYCC, which features never-before-seen footage from the upcoming season and interviews with returning cast and plenty of new guest stars. The show is set to release sometime in 2022 and although the new teaser isn’t very long, it gave fans a little taste before we drive into season 2.
You can always catch up on season 1 which is available on Media Village. But in the meantime, I will do you a solid and give you a little more background on our new favorite alien from the Syfy channel. The alien, whose actual name is pronounced N’a [click] ka-tay-ahla-Oooayy, is on a mission to destroy every human on Earth. However, he must attempt to blend in with the other residents of a small Colorado town in order to avoid detection while he searches for vital components of his spaceship that are now buried in snow on the neighboring mountains.
As he gets to know the small town’s residents, Harry learns about humanity and begins to have doubts about his mission. There are some amazing characters, each with their own developing stories, including Asta Twelvetrees (Sara Tomko), D’Arcy Bloom (Alice Wetterlund), and Sheriff Mike Thompson (Corey Reynolds).
However, one young boy, Max Hawthorne (Judah Prehn), is unlike the rest of the townsfolk: He possesses a rare gene that allows him to see Harry in his natural alien state. But naturally, no one believes him. Harry struggles with even the most basic of human customs, and, at first, there’s a little too much of lead star Alan Tudyk gurning and making strange “alien” faces. The show manages to find a lot of humor while dealing with the fact that this alien did come here to destroy us. After the first episode or two the show really finds its way and you get to see where it is going. The real question is, will he go on with his mission or have the humans rubbed off on him?
What do you think of this show and the new teaser for the new season? Will he destroy the humans in the end? Will his fellow aliens find him? Only time will tell and season 2 might have the answers. I guess we are going to just have to wait and see for ourselves once it makes its debut. Season 1 is streaming on Peacock.
