While the final season of Stranger Things will see the cast come together once more following their split in Season 4, there’s been a reunion of a different sort that recently saw Millie Bobby Brown reunite with “Papa” Matthew Modine, who oversaw her wedding vows yesterday to Jake Bongiovi. Modine appeared in Season 1 of the Netflix hit as Dr. Martin Brenner, and was seemingly left for dead after being attacked by a Demogorgon, though he miraculously appeared in the penultimate season, only to once more be fatally wounded in the Nevada desert.
Per People, Modine was on hand to officiate Brown’s wedding to Bongiovi on October 2, which saw the 20-year-old British actress tie the knot with the 22-year-old son of the legendary Jon Bon Jovi. It should be noted that the pair were actually married in a much more intimate ceremony that took place back in May, with the new affair in Tuscany, Italy being a much more lavish celebration. A photo shared on his Instagram page shows the lovely couple standing under a beautiful floral arch, with Modine between them as they read their vows. The simple caption reads “Forever and always, your husband,” with Modine himself popping into the comments to humorously add, “Amazing! Who’s the old guy with a beard??”
Brown also shared a series of photos on her Instagram account, echoing her husband’s caption with her own that reads “Forever and always, your wife,” though none of her photos feature Modine with the happy couple.
Mille Bobby Brown Knows What Happens to Eleven… Or Does She?
Set to debut in 2025, the final season of Stranger Things is already promising to be a bittersweet ending for the entire cast, who have been having a hard time holding back tears while filming the show’s swan song. Browne was just 12 years old when she began portraying Eleven back in 2016, and she’s since gone on to have a successful career in Hollywood thanks to her appearances in the likes of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Enola Holmes, and Damsel.
While plot details for Stranger Things Season 5 remain a tightly guarded secret, Brown did reveal earlier this year that while she doesn’t know the overall ending, she found out about her character’s fate by accident after a meeting in the writer’s room saw her stumble upon a whiteboard that detailed what happens to Eleven.
“Well I haven’t read the end, I know what happens to my character because I kind of forced myself into the writers’ room. I messaged the directors and said ‘Can I come over and have a meeting with you’ and then I came over and there was a whiteboard. I saw my ending and thought, ‘Oh’, and then I walked away very slowly.”
Of course, with Matt and Ross Duffer knowing she was going to show up for the meeting, they could have just been playing a trick on her, but who knows for sure? One thing we do know is that Modine’s character of Dr. Brenner is definitely out of the picture, a fate that was confirmed by the Duffer Brothers themselves. Then again, like Brown, they could be playing tricks on all of us. Needless to say, the grand finale of Stranger Things has us sitting on pins and needles as we eagerly await its return to Netflix in 2025.
