Daredevil returns in a newly released clip from the upcoming MCU Disney+ series, Echo, as The Man Without Fear throws down with the title character in a sequence that is sure to have audiences excited for more. Coming courtesy of Discussing Film, this latest footage from Echo finds Charlie Cox back in the horned cowl as Daredevil does battle with Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez, aka Echo, with the fight scene landing on TV before being shared across social media. You can check out the Daredevil versus Echo fight sequence below:

The footage finds Daredevil back in his element as he uses his trusty billy clubs and his even trustier fists to once again dispatch vigilante justice. Featuring the sort of brutal choreography and clear, long takes that made his Netflix series so popular, Echo promises to impress when she leads her solo series later this month. And, no doubt, the clip will also have Daredevil fans eager for his own MCU series, Daredevil: Born Again, which is expected to be released in 2025.

Created by Marion Dayre, Echo revisits Maya Lopez following her introduction to the MCU in 2021’s Hawkeye. Now being pursued by Wilson Fisk’s organization, her ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Echo stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, aka Echo, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, as well as Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Graham Greene, Cody Lightning, Devery Jacobs, and Zahn McClarnon.

Echo Will Please Daredevil Fans

Marvel’s Echo

Release Date January 9, 2024

With this new footage seemingly confirming that Echo will walk a similar line to the hugely popular Daredevil, early reactions to the next MCU series have also promised that Echo will please fans of The Man Without Fear.

“Saw the first two episodes of #echo tonight and have a lot of thoughts. I think fans of Netflix’s Daredevil are going to love it. It’s like Marvel remembered it can be violent and dark. Alaqua Cox is amazing! Although I don’t love all the creative decisions.”

While some critics did find a few issues with Echo overall, it certainly sounds like the series does Daredevil justice.

“Personally I didn’t enjoy all parts, the show is definitely brutal, dark, has calm moments with a strong focus on Maya. Also Daredevil fans will no doubt like what they did in the show.”

Other reactions have suggested that Echo bodes well for the new Marvel ‘Spotlight’ banner, as well as heaping praise on the much lower, more personal stakes presented in the series.

“More mature than other #disneyplus #marvel shows, great fight scene. Loved Kingpin. Fab Action. Feels more like ‘TV’. Lower stakes, perfect for the new Spotlight brand. Can’t wait to see the other episodes.”

“If the world ending stakes of the MCU have you longing for something more grounded #Echo is the gritty tonic. Two episodes seen and it’s a hard hitting action thriller with a great sense of Native American culture.”

Echo is scheduled to be released in its entirety simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
