In the meantime, we’re here to break down scene-by-scene what happened during a filler hour.
Check it out below!

We’re kicking things off hot with a shirtless Bradford and thirsty as heck Chen. She has some logic that because April Fool’s doesn’t count for anything, they can totally hook up, and it won’t matter.
I don’t see the logic in that argument, but I understand the dilemma, and Tim sure as heck isn’t saying now, so they head into his house for a hot romp that we didn’t get to see. Boo.
Meanwhile, Craig, a new transfer, shows up and says that he’s Nolan’s new rookie. He thinks it’s some kind of a joke, but it is not. The real joke was all the balloons and balls in his locker.
Grey assures Nolan that Craig is the perfect rookie and that it isn’t a joke. Nolan is still paranoid about it and keeps asking people about it at the meeting.
Craig drives a bit like a maniac and seems to be a nervous nelly.

Chen and Celina are paired up for the day, and she immediately clocks that Lucy had sex. Lucy denies it at first, but it’s clear that’s what happened.
Bradford has to speak to the new department’s social media manager, who canceled people’s traffic tickets via a tweet. He wants her to take down the tweet.
Nolan and Craig are called to a domestic disturbance. The man is inebriated and, at some point, makes a move, punching the rookie. Nolan takes him down.
Nolan reports to Grey that Craig isn’t a rockstar rookie and that his training has holes. He won’t be ready in a month. But he can’t necessarily bounce Craig without it reflecting poorly on him. Nolan is still convinced it’s a prank.
Wesley enlists Angela and Nyla to help with one of his cases. He interviews a witness for his case, but it’s clear that the detective coached her on what to say. They only agree to help further if Wesley gives them a spa weekend.

Nolan talks to Craig’s former T.O. Apparently, he didn’t want to end his career on a loser, so he sent the kid elsewhere. But Nolan lays into him for putting his life at risk by not bouncing this untrained rookie and carrying him.
Nolan says he’ll give Craig until the end of the day to prove himself.
Chen and Bradford sneak off into a room to make out. Celina almost catches them.
Bradford tells the social media intern that she’s fired, and she says he can’t do that, but he explains that he can.
Before she leaves, she tweets a Purge that invites chaos and anarchy, and Nolan and Craig have to deal with people torching things, vandalizing police cards, chasing after them, and trying to take them out.
(Disney/Mike Taing)
It’s a full-blown purge situation; Lucky at the clerk’s office calls Bradford asking for help because people have trashed the building and killed someone in front of her. It’s pure chaos and pandemonium. Totally Purge inspired.
Bradford, Lucy, and others must enter the building to resolve things. It’s totally vandalized and intense, like something out of a horror movie.
Lucy finds a woman crying in the bathroom stall she was hiding from others.
Someone comes at Bradford, and he has to shoot them. It’s a full-on brawl when the cops are attacked by anarchists, and Celina takes one down while Bradford and Chen go to investigate further.
They find Lucy, who is terrified and clings to Tim. He and Lucy get attacked on both sides by a bunch of anarchists. They have to fight them off, and Lucy has to go after one who takes Lucky.
(Disney/Mike Taing)
Lucy finds Lucky and takes down another person. Bradford shows up, too, and he arrests Lucky for causing everything.
The police officer who has caused issues with witness statements and more in Wesley’s case, shows up at the scene, and Harper and Lopez clock him. He gets word that there’s an arrest warrant out for him, flips out, tries to leave, and then shoots at them from inside the car, and they shoot at him to stop him.
Nolan and Craig update Grey about what happened. They get the stamp of approval. Craig says he wants to be a police officer, and Nolan offers to help him. Grey says that he’ll transfer him to a quieter division, and Nolan gives him his card in case he ever needs anything as a resource.
Grey calls Chenford in to ask them about their relationship and how it’s inappropriate when he’s her superior. They pull an April Fool’s joke on him.
(Disney/Mike Taing)
He counters it by pretending he’s having a heart attack, freaking them out.
They decide that since there is still time left before the day ends, they can hook up one more time and hurry off to do it, with Celina observing and commenting on it.
