The series follows doctors Sleech (Stephanie Hsu) and Klak (Keke Palmer) as they take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement. The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is created and written by Cirocco Dunlap (Russian Doll), who also appears in multiple episodes of the series’ upcoming first season.
Natasha Lyonne Dubs Herself the “Culkin Whisperer”
Prime Video
Lyonne, who voices Nurse Tup in the series, and executive produces alongside Maya Rudolph under their Animal Pictures banner, shared that she helped get the brothers on board for the collaboration. She told The Hollywood Reporter:
“I’m the Culkin whisperer it turns out. I worked with Mac on ‘
Party Monster
,’ I want to say it was five years ago but it was probably 25. And so we became pals, we were instant friends and he’d do running charades and the family would all be there. Kieran and I became pals along the way, I think maybe I did a movie with Rory. I love them, I really love those Culkins.”
The Culkin brothers all began acting at a young age, and some worked together at different points during their careers. Macaulay worked alongside Kieran in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, and worked with Quinn and Rory in The Good Son, with Macaulay and Rory also collaborating on Richie Rich. Kieran worked alongside Rory in Igby Goes Down and Christian in My Summer Story. The five also have two sisters, Quinn and Dakota; the latter died in 2008 after being struck by a car. Their half-sister Jennifer Adamson passed away in 2000 following a drug overdose.
