The highly anticipated James Bond reboot has now found its director in Dune and Blade Runner 2049’s Denis Villeneuve, but we are still waiting to find out who will don the tux and fire a bullet down the camera as blood dribbles down. With things clearly ramping up for Amazon’s new take on 007, a new favorite for the coveted role has now emerged…and he’s a real king’s man.
Following the recent reveal that Amazon is now eyeing a…divisive trio of actors for the iconic action hero, one such name from that list has now taken the top spot, according to the bookies. The King’s Man and Babygirl star Harris Dickinson now boasts odds of 5/2, with the lesser-known actor, who finds himself on Amazon’s preferred list alongside MCU star Tom Holland and Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi, pushing previous favorites Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jack Lowden down the rankings. Both Holland and Elordi have also seen their odds greatly improve, with the rest of the top choices for the next James Bond being Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre and F1 actor Damson Idris.

Don’t Worry About AI Writing the Next James Bond Movie in 2025, We Tried It and It Completely Sucked
James Bond 26 will be helmed by Denis Villeneuve, but can an AI chatbot really produce a worthy plot for the new movie? Of course not.
Possessing the kind of not-quite-A-list profile that James Bond casting directors love, English actor Harris Dickinson has received critical acclaim for performances in the likes of Triangle of Sadness, Where the Crawdads Sing, Babygirl, and The Iron Claw, as well as demonstrating his affinity for espionage and action in the comic book movie The King’s Man. Okay, he did die pretty early on, but when he was fighting, shooting, and being heroic, he looked great doing it.
Not only does he clearly have the on-screen talent, Harris Dickinson also has the backing of James Bond expert Mark O’Connell (via LBC), who wrote the book “Catching Bullets – Memoirs of a Bond Fan.” While discussing who could be chosen to play 007, O’Connell advised fans to “keep an eye on” on Dickinson as the potential pick.
Denis Villeneuve Has Described Directing the 007 Reboot as a “Massive Responsibility”
20th Century Studios
While most of what Amazon has planned for James Bond remains a closely guarded secret, it has now been confirmed that, following the reveal of a list of possible directors that included All Quiet on the Western Front and Conclave filmmaker and Oscar-winner Edward Berger, Paddington and Wonka director Paul King, Baby Driver and Hot Fuzz’s Edgar Wright, and finally Westworld creator, Fallout producer, and brother of Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, Sicario’s Denis Villeneuve will helm the reboot.
In a statement released following the announcement, Villeneuve declared his longtime love for everything James Bond, describing the chance to direct the latest iteration of 007 as a “massive responsibility.”
“Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No, with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen. Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust.”
