The Frasier revival at Paramount+ remains mysterious at the current time, but returning star Kelsey Grammer has now offered a few details into their approach to the characters all these years later. Along with revealing how much the blustery psychiatrist, has changed when he is reintroduced to audiences on Paramount+, Grammer also offered some insight into how far along they are in the production process.
“There’s going to be some nuances that are different, but of course it will be the same basic guy. We’ve got a script and we’re doing a polish on it.”

Frasier fans have been left wondering whether the revival will include any of the other beloved faces from the series’ original run, such as, David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, and Jane Leeves. Sadly, charming actor John Mahoney passed away in 2018, which has also left many wondering how the show will possibly be the same without Frasier’s cantankerous-but-loveable father.
With regards to the rest of his co-stars though, Kelsey Grammer revealed a promising update in terms of their potential return. He said, “We’re doing our best to woo all the actors back and we have a couple things in mind there and I think it’s looking pretty good!” More specifically, Grammer teased a comeback for Bebe Neuwirth’s fan-favotite character, Lilith Sternin, Frasier’s expertly deadpan ex-wife. “I’m sure if Bebe wants to grace us with her presence, we’d love to have her do a couple shows, I’m sure,” Grammer said.
Frasier came to an end with season 11 back in 2004, with the good doctor leaving for Chicago in hopes of reuniting with Charlotte, the woman he has fallen in love with. Following the announcement of the revival, fans have also been wondering where the new series will find Frasier. One of the burning questions surrounds his job and whether he will still be presenting a radio show, or will he have moved back into private practice? Well, according to Grammer, Frasier may have decided to move with the times and learnt how to adapt to advances in technology.
“There is some discussion about that in the script actually, so we shall see. He’s got a whole, sort of a new backstory because of the absence, the time span when he has been gone. There are several things we are going to catch up with that he went through during that decade and a half or so. There may be a podcast about the show that is in my future, I don’t know. We are talking about it.”
A Frasier revival is something that star Kelsey Grammer has been trying to get off the ground for years now, and the character’s return is something that the award-winning actor is very excited about. “Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, both producing shows and performing in several, I’d like to congratulate Paramount+ on its entry into the streaming world,” Grammer shared the news in a statement. “I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane.”
The Frasier revival does not yet have a release date but is expected to be released in 2022 on Paramount+. This comes to us from Forbes.
