Anything is possible in the MCU, even dreaming of a Deadpool Christmas movie. At least that is what Ryan Reynolds is hoping as he revealed that he wrote a full festive movie featuring Deadpool four years ago, but it “got lost” when Disney and Fox merged. Now with Deadpool ready to make his MCU debut, will that movie be a future project for Reynolds’ popular character? He told Big Issue:
“I would love to see a song-and-dance number in a Deadpool movie. Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and it never got made. Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full Deadpool Christmas movie. So one day.”
Of course, Reynolds is currently strutting his stuff on Apple TV+ release Spirited, a musical expansion of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. While the much-loved actor does crack out his singing and dancing shoes for that movie, he recently said that is very much a one shot thing, so even if we do get to see Deadpool getting merry in the MCU, it would have to be seen whether that would include a big production number.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Deadpool did almost make a Christmas movie in 2018, when PG-13 re-edit of Deadpool 2 was released in cinemas as Once Upon a Deadpool. However, to know that there is a script out there for a full-blown Deadpool Christmas just makes you feel really toasty inside, doesn’t it? Will we ever see it? Hopefully, “one day.”

What Will Deadpool 3 Bring To The MCU?
20th Century Fox
Even if there isn’t a Deadpool Christmas to look forward to just yet, there are plenty of theories out there about the crazy arrival of Deadpool 3 in 2024. With the inclusion of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, fans are already as hyped as humanly possible for the latest, and assumed to be greatest, Deadpool movie of them all.
So far it has been rumored that the story will see Deadpool going on an epic trip across the multiverse, which will feature Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius from Disney+ series Loki and number of former Fox versions of MCU heroes such as the Fantastic Four. While all of this is nothing but speculation from various sources, it is all enough to make sure that the topic of Deadpool is on the tongue of many MCU fans until more concrete details become available in good time.
Currently, there has been no word on exactly how Deadpool, or Wolverine, will fit into the MCU’s world, but one thing that Marvel Boss Kevin Feige has previously promised is that Marvel Studios will certainly be looking to outdo the previous Deadpool movies. He commented:
“How do we elevate it in the way we’ve been able to with Civil War and Infinity War and Ragnarok? It’s very fun to be in the world of the Ryan Reynolds show.”
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on Nov. 8, 2024
